Complacent & ineffective? Me? Well.......uh Jude 1:8
Good morning everyone. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!
Yesterday we talked about false teachers, immorality, Sodom and Gomorrah, being filled with evil. Today let us look at Jude 1:8. The question to ponder is: Are you complacent and ineffective or active and effective in your Christian walk?
"In the same way, these people-who claim authority from their dreams-live immoral lives, defy authority, and scoff at supernatural beings."
The supernatural beings here are probably evil angels. The men of Sodom insulted the angels that came to Lot (Genesis 19) and it resulted in the demise of Sodom and all the cities of the plains. Don't scoff at the supernatural beings.
2 Peter 2:10-12 talks about scoffing at supernatural beings - whether God's angels or fallen angels. The false teachers slandered the spiritual realities they did not understand, taking satan's power lightly and claiming to have the ability to judge evil.
Many in our world today mock the supernatural. They deny the reality of the spiritual world and claim that only what can be seen and felt is real. Do not take satan and his supernatural powers of evil lightly. Yes, satan will be defeated and completely destroyed, BUT, until then he is hard at work trying to get Christians to be complacent and ineffective. Sinners who don't seek forgiveness from God will face eternal separation from Him.
Are you complacent and ineffective or active and effective? Love you all.
In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
