Do you see & not perceive; hear & not understand? Romans 28:23-28
Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!
Did you mention God to anyone, someone yesterday? Today, I feel led to quote to you out of Acts 28 concerning Paul. Acts 28:23-24 Paul was a prisoner in an apartment which had a guard. He was not allowed to leave, but could have visitors. At this time Christians were denounced everywhere by the Romans because they were seen as a threat to the Roman establishment. Hmmm, sounds like America; we Christians are a threat to the politically correct views of politicians who are vying for votes.
The Christians were committed to one God, whereas the Romans had many gods, which included Caesar. As Christians, their God was higher than Caesar. Of course, this angered the Romans.
People would come, people would listen, then people would argue among themselves about what Paul had taught - some accepted - some rejected. Finally, Paul had this to say to the people of Rome, which could apply to us today as well. This is in Acts 28:25-28 - the link has 3 translations; however, I would like YOU to see the words and seriously consider what Paul was saying:
Acts 28:25-28
King James Version (KJV)
25 And
when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul
had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet
unto our fathers,
26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
