How are your actions? Your words?
Good morning everyone!!! Brrrr!! Pretty cool outside this morning!!! Some school closings in the DFW area!! Let’s all pray that the spirit moves us as we need to be moved and we walk with a new nature. Let’s look at Ephesians 4:28-29. We have been looking at being new in Christ, a new nature, and about lying, so today we will looks at using our hands for good, not evil.
Ephesians 4:28-29 “IF YOU ARE A THIEF, QUIT STEALING. INSTEAD, USE YOUR HANDS FOR GOOD HARD WORK, AND THEN GIVE GENEROUSLY TO OTHERS IN NEED. (29) DON’T USE FOUL OR ABUSIVE LANGUAGE. LET EVERYTHING YOU SAY BE GOOD AND HELPFUL, SO THAT YOUR WORDS WILL BE AN ENCOURAGEMENT TO THOSE WHO HEAR THEM.”
We can bring sorrow and disappointment to the Holy Spirit, to ourselves, to others by the way we live. Paul is telling us to use our hand for GOOD, not evil, to help others in need. Are we doing that? Helping others in need? Putting our hands to good use?
Then, right behind that Paul warns us about poor choice of words, or questionable language. Poor wording may come from the wrong use of anger, slander, harsh words, maybe bad attitudes toward others. Paul tells us we should be forgiving just as God has forgiven us. What do your actions do? Do they please God? Does your attitude please God? We need to encourage one another, not tear them down. Build up each other in the body of Christ. So…….are you helpful and encouraging? If not, WHY?????
Thank you for reading with me today. I hope this touches you in some way. Pray for on another, our pastors, everyone in a leadership role. Pray for everyone to have safe passage today as the cold weather moves in. Love you all!!!
In Christ’s Love and Grace
Johnny
