Are words just words?

Good morning everyone!!!! Sorry for last week, being thanksgiving was gone and did not have easy access to internet. I hope your holiday time was wonderful and you had a very enjoyable time. God will take care of us, we just have to let him do it!! I have had numerous discussions with a friend about words. Are words just words? Can they be offensive? Is cursing bad or are they JUST WORDS? Does our language affect our example as a Christian?
Let's look at 2 Corinthians 6:3 "WE LIVE IN SUCH A WAY THAT NO ONE WILL STUMBLE BECAUSE OF US, AND NO ONE WILL FIND FAULT WITH OUR MINISTRY." 4 "IN EVERYTHING WE DO, WE SHOW THAT WE ARE TRUE MINISTERS OF GOD. WE PATIENTLY ENDURE TROUBLES AND HARDSHIPS AND CALAMITIES OF EVERY KIND."
Paul is telling us this and in everything he did, Paul always considered what his actions communicated about Jesus Christ. We, as believers, are ministers of Jesus Christ, ministers for God. During your daily walk many unbelievers watch and observe you. Can we afford to let our undisciplined actions or talk give someone reason to reject Jesus Christ? To say, if that is what being a Christian is I don't want to be?
Are words just words? Words cut, words leave scars, words slash to the bone, words leave a dirty taste in the mouth, words can be bad breath!! How are your words? If you say "Oh, _ _ _ _", is it okay?
My friend and I discuss the cursing part. Yes, I know 'horse' could be a bad word, BUT, it is not. Therefore, my contention is that if I do use bad words, I am tainting the image of Christ and I will be held accountable. What do you think? Are words just words? Use any you wnat with no worry? For me, words are important and should be used properly to further the image of Christ others may see in me.
Thanks for reading today!!!! I hope and pray you have a wonderful week!!! Remember, because of thanksgiving there are fewer turkeys in the world, but there are also a lot of other "stuffed turkeys" running around. LOL. Love you all. Please pray for a friend Bobby, you have colon cancer and it has spread into the liver and lymph nodes. He is in kemo now.
In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
