1 Samuel 12:23 Are you praying? Really?!?!

Good morning all! God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

1 Samuel 12:23 "As for me, I will certainly not sin against the LORD by ending my prayers for you. And I will continue to teach you what is good and right."

Is failing to pray for others a sin? Samuel's words seem to indicate that it is. His actions illustrate two of God's people's responsibilities: (1) They should pray consistently for others (Eph 6:18), and (2) they should teach others the right way to God (2 Timothy 2:2). Samuel disagreed with the Israelites' demand for a king, but he assured them that he would continue to pray for them and teach them.

We may disagree with others, but we should not stop praying for them. We should pray for our self first, asking forgiveness and guidance. This cleans the slate with you and God, then pray; pray in general, pray in specifics, pray for all around you.

How do you pray? Just talk to God. Tell Him what is on your heart. If you are angry get it out, if you are angry at God tell Him; He is a big boy and can take it. Just share, as if you were sharing with another friend. Love you all.

In Christ's Love and Grace

Johnny
