Micah 5:2 Matthew 2:1 A coincidence?

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good.
TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Thought of the day: "Don't tell God how big your storm is, tell the storm how big your God is."

Did you take time to read the words of Mary, did you know? Imagine, kissing the face of God. Imagine, coming from humble means and your son doing great miracles in the world. Imagine, your son is the savior of the world. Wow! Hard to wrap ones mind around it, but it is awesome.

Let's look at the Bible. Micah 5:2: But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.
Matthew 2:1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from the east came to Jerusalem.

Bethlehem of Judea was also called Ephrath. Wise men, magoi, originally denoted the priestly caste among the Persians and Babylonians. Matthew uses the term to designate honorable men from an Eastern religion.

The land of Israel was divided into four political districts. Jerusalem was in Judea and was the seat of government for Herod the Great. Bethlehem of Judea had been prophesied as the Messiah's birthplace.

Not a lot is know about these "wise men." How did they know that the star represented the Messiah? The could have been Jews who remained in Babylon after the Exile and knew the Old Testament predictions of the Messiah's coming. They could have been eastern astrologers who studied ancient manuscripts from around the world and had copies of the Old Testament. They may have had a special message from God directing them to the Messiah.

These men from faraway lands recognized Jesus as the Messiah when most of God's chosen people in Israel did not. Matthew pictures Jesus as the King over the whole world, not just Judea.

Now, if you have read this far you are saying, this is not interesting or good. But wait, look at what is being portrayed right here before you. Jesus came from humble beginnings, land of Judah, a lesser land. What do you expect from poor folk in a poor land? When he was born, who came to see Him? Who knew who He was or would be?
Just a lucky coincidence! Huh? We call them coincidences, but with God....is it ever a coincidence? If you take time and study this instead of a fleeting moment you can see much much more. Love you all.

In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
