I spent enough time being churchy!

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Quote for today by Harris - "Surer than autumn's harvests are harvest of thought and deed; Like those that our hands have planted, the yield will be like the seed."

We have always heard you reap what you sow. What does this mean really? We hear all the excuses. See if you have heard these - I just don't have time to come to church. Well, I am not going to spend every awake moment at the church. There is life outside the church. I don't have to go to church to be a Christian. No, I am not going to church, I need some time for myself. And we could go on and on.

Okay, if you spend 2 hours a week in church, don't pray regularly, you are dedicating your 2 hours to church (actually God). You have spent 1.1% of your week in church. You spend 24% of your time at work.

If you spend 2 hours Sunday and 2 hours Wednesday night, then you spend 2.2% of your week with God. God does not want all your time, just a fair portion.

If you pray for 2 hours each week (about 17 minutes per day) then you have given God 3.3% of your time and efforts. Yes, I am, and you are..... selfish. We find time to ride our 4 wheelers, go out on our boat, go to a movie, go to dinner, go shopping for what we don't need, and what does the Bible say about these things. Yes, correct, they will rust, wear away, be but a moment in your life. So, besides excuses, what are you doing for your eternal life?

Galatians 6:7 "Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap." What, exactly are you sowing? Old people don't just suddenly grow old and irritable - they have been growing this way all their life.

Paul says in Galatians 6:8 "For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting."

Again, what are you sowing and what do you expect to reap? Take time today to start spending more meaningful time with God. If you just prayed on and off during the day, witnessed to someone, share Jesus with someone, invited someone to church and all this only took an hour each day, can you image what might happen. That alone would be 4% of your week. Add 1% for your church going Sunday morning and you are at 5%.

God loves a cheerful giver, 10% of your income happily, what about 10% of your time. You can do it. Come do it with me. What in heavens name have you done today? Love you all.

In Christ's Love and Grace

Johnny
