Wisdom - yep I need it! James 1:5
Good morning everyone. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!
James 1:5 "If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking."
Wisdom - James is talking about knowledge AND the ability to make wise decisions in difficult circumstances. Whenever we need wisdom, we can pray to God, and he will generously supply what we need.
The wisdom we should desire has three characteristics.
First, it is practical. This is wisdom in life even in trying times. This wisdom is the tool to help us overcome our trials. This is having the knowledge and then put that knowledge to work.
Next wisdom is divine. God's wisdom goes beyone common sense. This wisdom begins with respect for God, leads to living by God's direction, and results in the ability to tell right from wrong.
And the third characteristic is wisdom is Christlike. Asking for wisdom is ultimately asking to be like Christ. The Bible identifies Christ as the 'wisdom of God' in 1 Corinthians 1:24 & 2:1-7.
Do I need wisdom? Oh, yes, definitely - and lots of it. Let's take time to pray and ask God for the wisdom He shares. Love you all.
In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
