Who can be saved? Mark 10:26,27
Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!
A day without JESUS is like a day without sunshine. We have been talking about the young rich man who wanted to follow Jesus. He asked what he must do to inherit eternal life and Jesus told him. Sell all and follow me. The young rich man went away sad and disappointed.
Jesus went on to say to his disciples that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than a rich man to get to heaven. Now after all this the disciples were astonished. Here goes:
Mark 10:26,27 "The disciples were astounded. "Then who in the world can be saved?" they asked. Jesus looked at them intently and said "With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.""
From the disciples eyes wealth was a blessing from God, a reward for being good. This misconception is still common today. Many believers enjoy material prosperity while many others live in poverty. Wealth is not a sign of faith or of partiality on God's part.
The disciples were amazed, and, walking with Jesus they still did not get the full concept. To inherit eternal life one must be a child of God. To be a child of God we must accept Jesus as our LORD and Saviour.
Remember, accepting salvation, accepting Jesus, being saved is like being pregnant; either you ARE or you ARE NOT. There is not just a little bit. Love you all.
In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
