2 Timothy 3:16 Reading your road map?

Good morning everyone. God is good all the time, all the time God is good!

"The Bible is a good history book but I don't believe everything in it."

Have you heard this before? I have, and how do you respond?

2 Timothy 3:16 "All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right."

The Bible is not a collection of stories, fables, myths or just our human ideas about God. This is a book, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and revealed to people to write. That is why this is the inspired Word of God.

The writers wrote in their language and style so the people of the times could understand, but they wrote what God wanted them to write. Greek inspiration is 'theopneustos' which means "God breathed out."

The Scriptures are not only profitable for salvation but for sanctification and Christian growth as well. They serve as the road map to heaven and the road map of the Christian life. They are all we need for faith and doctrine.
