Stop, listen, and then.......James 1:19-20

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

LISTENING & DOING! These are probably one of the hardest things for us to do in society today. What does it mean to LISTEN? First, stop, not slow down, but stop. I taught school with a lady in Colorado that was a scary listener. Do you know why? Because, when you spoke to her, she STOPPED, looked you straight in the eye, and FOCUSED on what you were saying. She listened, absorbed, and remembered what you said later on. Can you remember a conversation from breakfast today?

She was also slow to speak. When you were talking, she was not thinking about what she was going to say, but focused on you and your words, what you were saying. She would consider what you said and respond accordingly.

And finally, listen, slow to speak, and then be slow to anger. Many times we are in such a "hurry" that we don't see the REAL SITUATION. Listen, slow to speak, and slow to anger. When you see (listen), wait to speak, and actually notice what is going on you may not allow yourself to become angry. Don't let "hurry" get you twisted and upset. A car cuts you off in traffic, why? You don't really know, they may have an emergency, they may be living in the "hurry" world, or they may just be a rude, inconsiderate driver. Is it worth your anger? Really?

James 1:19-20 "Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry. Human anger does not produce the righteousness God desires."

Don't let your bruised ego lead you. When injustice and sin occur, we should become angry because others are being hurt. Selfish anger serves no purpose to anyone. Take time today, slow down, listen, and let God be your god - not all the other things in the world. Love you all.

In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
