Angles sang, shepherds came! Wow! Luke 2:14-20
Hello everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!
Yesterday we talked about the birth announcement and the host of angels and armies of heaven who praised God and said.....well, Luke 2:14 tells us - "Glory to God in highest heaven, and peace on earth to those with whom God is pleased." You probably have heard this as peace on earth and good will to men.
The angels' song, sometimes called the Gloria after its first word in the Latin translation, is the basis for many modern choral works, traditional Christmas carols, and ancient liturgical chants. The story of Jesus' birth is announced by angels, and the angelic choir sings. WOW! If that does not stir you - well, it is your problem and I'll pray for you. lol
Let's finish out Luke2:15-20 "When the angels had returned to heaven, the shepherds said to each other, "Let's go to Bethlehem! Let's see this thing that has happened, which the LORD has told us about." They hurried to the village and found Mary and Joseph. And there was the baby, lying in the manger. After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. All who heard the shepherds' story were astonished, but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often. The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them."
Everyone in this Christmas story was obedient to God! Are you? Is Christmas a big party time or a time to fellowship with God? Love you all.
In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
