What would you ask God for? 1 Kings 3:4-14

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!
1 Kings 3:4-14 is the study of devotion for today. Solomon - what an understanding and wise man.  Did he get this way through birth? Solomon was at Gibeon to sacrifice to GOD.  Do you ever take time for your "sacrifice" to God?  God gave Solomon a choice, just as we have free will, God came to Solomon at Gibeon, appeared to him and said, "Ask what I shall give thee."
What would you ask for if God, the all powerful, the One who spoke the world into existence, came to you and said - ask what I shall give thee.  Now, God did not promise, He just told Solomon to ask what he would like to have.
Solomon, now speaking to God, could have asked for anything,--wealth, 90 virgins, a mighty kingdom, but he asked for WISDOM!  In verse 9 "Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?"
God was pleased with Solomon's request and granted it along with riches and honor. God also said there was no man before, nor would there be after Solomon with such great wisdom (verse 12).  Solomon is known for his wisdom.
What was Solomon's downfall?  Marriage - no, not just marriage, but marriage with royal families of different countries, which was a common practice to help ensure peace.  The problem with this is, they came from people who worshipped Baal, thereby corrupting the pure religion of God.  These wives brought their gods to Jerusalem and lured Solomon into idoltry.
Monitor your heart daily to avoid wandering from God's wisdom. What do you worship? God or..... Love you all.
   In Christ's Love and Grace
