If God knows everything why pray? Isaiah 38:1-5

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.
TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Yesterday we talked about what good does prayer do. Did you call out specifics and ask God to intervene? Or did you use ritualistic idle rhetoric? Today, why pray?
If God knows everything why pray?

Isaiah 38:1-5 KJV "In those days Hezekiah was sick and near death. And Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, went to him and said to him, "Thus says the LORD: 'Set your house in order, for you shall die and not live.'" Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed to the LORD. And said, "Remember now, O LORD, I pray, how I have walked before You in truth and with a loyal heart, and have done what is good in Your sight." And Hezekiah wept bitterly. And the word of the LORD came to Isaiah saying, "God and tell Hezekiah, 'Thus says the LORD, the God of David your father: "I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will add to your days fifteen years.'"

Okay, so what just happened? Hezekiah was ill and about to die. Isaiah told him he would die, God said so. Then Hezekiah, a proud man who struggled with pride, immediately turned to God in prayer. God heard him and extended his life another 15 years. Wow!

If you have a desperate need in your life, bring it to the LORD. In response to fervent prayer, God may change the course of your life too. But now a couple of questions for you.

Did God change His mind? Was this an event God set in place to humble Hezekiah? When Hezekiah heard he was going to die what did he do? He turned his face to the wall and prayed to the LORD. Why did he turn to the wall? Maybe to concentrate?
And he wept bitterly, meaning these were tears of sincerity, humbling himself before the LORD.

God gave a sign to prove he did as he promised. What was it? You tell me, look up Isaiah 38:7,8. Love you all. Pray! Ask forgiveness, then pray for yourself and others. Be specific, be expecting, be grateful.

In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
