Can you really hide in a cave? Judges 15:7-13

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!!!
Wow!  What an adventure if you will just let go and let God.  I am writing to you from New Orleans today and enjoying the sights and it is raining.  To follow my adventure in N.O. you can go to Christianity - Thoughts by Johnny.
To recap briefly, Samson caught 300 foxes, tied their tails together in pairs, attached torches to the tails, and as they ran they burned the fields and vineyards.  The Philistines took Samson's father in law from Timnah and his wife and burned them and their house.
Now, let us begin in Judges 15, verse  Samson said to them, “Since you’ve acted like this, I swear that I won’t stop until I get my revenge on you.” He attacked them viciously and slaughtered many of them. Then he went down and stayed in a cave in the rock of Etam.
Do you see the picture unraveling here?  Anger and threats create constantly a "get even" attitude. Samson heard what happened to father in law and wife so he killed many.  Then he went to live in a cave in the rock of Etam.  Now what?
The Philistines went up and camped in Judah, spreading out near Lehi. 10 The people of Judah asked, “Why have you come to fight us?”
“We have come to take Samson prisoner,” they answered, “to do to him as he did to us.”
So now the Philistines took revenge against Judah because of Samson.  This revenge cycle is continuing.  Sounds like a modern day soap opera.  Everybody is mad at somebody and for what? Where did this start? With the 30 young Philistine men and Samson's riddle.
The people of Judah don't wish to fight so what did they do?
11 Then three thousand men from Judah went down to the cave in the rock of Etam and said to Samson, “Don’t you realize that the Philistines are rulers over us? What have you done to us?”
He answered, “I merely did to them what they did to me.”
12 They said to him, “We’ve come to tie you up and hand you over to the Philistines.”
Samson said, “Swear to me that you won’t kill me yourselves.”
13 “Agreed,” they answered. “We will only tie you up and hand you over to them. We will not kill you.” So they bound him with two new ropes and led him up from the rock.
Notice, 3,000 men went to face Samson.  Do you think they may have had a little fear in their hearts?  Hmmm!  So, they made a deal with Samson.  They tied him up with 2 new ropes.  Any significance in "new ropes?"  Probably, so the new ropes would hold him.  Obviously, they knew of his strength.
It seems a disturbing trends here is Samson's pride, then he does not see it as "his fault" but what someone else did.  Does this sound a lot like America today?  Stand strong and stay in check my friend.  Love you all.
In Christ's Love and Grace
   Johnny
