A jawbone + Samson + 1000 Philistines = Death Judges 15:14-17

Good morning dear friends!  God is good all the time, all the time God is good.  TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!!!
A great day to be alive in Christ!!  Okay, Samson tied foxes together, they ran about destroying things by fire; then Samson went into a cave, the Philistines came to fight Judah, then 3000 men from Judah went to ask Samson to give himself up to the Philistines.
Judges 15:14-17  Samson is tied with "new cords (ropes)" and taken into Lehi.  Please understand that the cave in Etam was south of Bethlehem and well east of Timnah.  Lehi is east of Timnah, so they have quite a journey to return to Lehi. Click here to see the map by Bible Hub.
Judges 15: 14 And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands.
15 And he found a new jawbone of an ass, and put forth his hand, and took it, and slew a thousand men therewith.
16 And Samson said, With the jawbone of an ass, heaps upon heaps, with the jaw of an ass have I slain a thousand men.
17 And it came to pass, when he had made an end of speaking, that he cast away the jawbone out of his hand, and called that place Ramathlehi.
Lehi means hill.  So this pretty much tells the story about killing 1,000 Philistines with the jawbone of an ass or donkey.  The ropes, as described above, he just snapped or popped off, easily.  Now the name Ramathlehi- Lehi  means "the hill" or "height of Lehi" so in our translation this place is Jawbone Hill.
Samson was proud and boasted only of his own strength.   Pride can cause us to take credit for work we've done only because of God's Strength. Where are you today?  Taking credit for God's work in you or crediting God for the work?  It is hard to be humble and takes constant awareness and Holy Spirit intervention.  Love you all.
  In Christ's Love and Grace
