Hate the deed, LOVE the people

Good morning everyone!! Another great day to be alive in the LORD JESUS CHRIST!! God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

Revelation 2:6 "But this thou hast, that thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolaitanes, which I also hate."
Wow! Such strong words. Nicolas means "one who conquers the people," and he was a deacon, but a false believer who later became apostate. He led the believers astray, as in v. 14-15 similar to the teaching of Balaam.

The Nicolaitans were believers who compromised their faith in order to enjoy some of the sinful practices of Ephesian society. When we want to take part in an activity that we know is wrong, we may make excuses to justify our behavior, saying that it isn't as bad as it seems or that it won't hurt our faith. Christ has strong workds for those who look for excuses to sin.

Through John, Jesus commended the church at Ephesus for hating the wicked practices of the Nicolaitans, but that they didn't hate the people, just their sinful actions. We should accept and love allpeople but refuse to tolerate any evil. God cannot tolerate sin, and he expects us to stand against it. the world needs Christians who will stand for God's truth and point people toward right living.

Where do you stand? One foot in Christ, the other in the world? Or are you firmly planted with both feet in Christ? Thank you for reading. Love you all.

In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
