2 Corinthians 3:6 Ministers of the new covenant

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

When a Monarch Butterfly newly emerges from its caterpillar cocoon it takes about 10 minutes for its wings to fill with fluid and an hour for its wings to harden. Each spring the monarchs travel northward across the central and eastern United States toward Canada. Then in August there is a mass migration of millions of monarchs as they migrate south, up to 2,000 miles in two months and they take refuge from winter's cold beneath the canopy of umbrella-like forests of central Mexico.

The monarch travels 25 to 30 miles a day, and lives on milkweed and nectar plants. They mate, lay eggs on milk plants, and each behave individually. Once again, our life should be more like the monarch. In my little finite mind what I see is:
Eggs of Monarch = Rebirth of our spirit (accepting Jesus Christ as saviour)
Caterpillar = When we are studying and developing in the word of God
Wings fill & harden= when we become committed to the word of God
Migration = Taking the word of God into the word and sharing the Good News

The Spirit is our gift from God. 2 Corinthians 3:6 "He has enabled us to be ministers of his new covenant. This is a covenant not of written laws, but of the Spirit. The old written covenant ends in death; but under the new covenant, the Spirit give life."

Under the new covenant the Spirit gives life, meaning eternal life; which comes from the Holy Spirit. Only by believing in the LORD Jesus Christ can a person receive eternal life through the Holy Spirit. The Spirit gives new life to all who believe in Christ. The moral law, the Ten Commandments, still points out sin and shows us how to obey God, but forgiveness comes only through the grace and mercy of Christ.

So, as a butterfly, you have been through:
the egg stage (accepting Christ);
caterpillar stage where you have studied and learned through God's word;
wings fill and harden you are getting ready to take the word into the world; and finally migration when you take the word into the world and actually invite people to accept Jesus Christ as their LORD and Saviour.

Are you ready butterfly? Let's migrate! Love you all.

In Christ's Love and Grace
Johnny
