Seduce Proofing (part 2) Psalm 19:12-13

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!

Psalm 19:12-13 "How can I know all the sins lurking in my heart? Cleanse me from these hidden faults. Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don't let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin."

Many times as Christians we are plagued by guilt. We worry that we may have committed a sin unknowingly, done something good with selfish intentions, failed to put our whole heart in a task, or neglected what we should have done. Guilt can play an important part in bringing us to Christ and in keeping us behaving properly, but it should not cripple us or make us fearful. God fully and completely forgives us, even for the the sins we do unknowingly.

1 Thessalonians 5:20-21 "Do not scoff at prophecies, but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good."

We should listen to those who speak for God, BUT, we should always "test everything that is said," checking their words against the Bible. We are on dangerous ground if we laugh at a person who speaks the truth. Instead, we should carefully check out what people say, accepting what is true and rejecting what is false.

1 Thessalonians 5:23 " Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our LORD JESUS CHRIST comes again."

The spirit, soul, and body refer to the entire being of a person. This expression is Paul's way of saying that God must be involved in every aspect of life. It is wrong to think that we can separate the spiritual life from everything else, obeying God only in some e sense or living for him only one day each week. Christ must control all of us, not just a "religious" part.

1 Thessalonians 5:24-25 "God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful. Dear brothers and sisters, pray for us." Christians cannot avoid every kind of evil because we live in a sinful world. We can, however, make sure that we don't give evil a foothold by avoiding tempting situations and concentrating on obeying God. We must pray, one for another. Pray now, for all you know, all on this list, for me as I for you. Love you all.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 Seduce Proofing Our Lives

Good morning all! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 "May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it."

The spirit, soul, and body refer to the entire being of a person. This expression is Paul's way of saying that God must be involved in every aspect of life. It is wrong to think that we can separate the spiritual life from everything else, obeying God only in some ethereal sense or living for him only one day each week. Christ must control all of us, not just a "religious" part.

Christians cannot avoid every kind of evil because we live in a sinful world. We can, however, make sure that we don't give evil a foothold by avoiding tempting situations and concentrating on obeying God.

Take time and read 1 Thessalonians 5:16-25. Some ideas of how to be a seduce-proofed believer. They are: 1.be happy in your faith; 2.abstain from evil; 3.pray without ceasing; 4.give thanks in everything; and 5.don't quench the spirit. Take time, now, and look again at these five things. Write them down, strongest to weakest, now write a plan of action of how to make the weakest as strong as the strongest. A good first step is the word of God, commonly referred to as the BIBLE.

My wish for you today is that you will be happy, giving thanks in everything, walking in the spirit and avoiding evil while praying unceasingly. Love you all.

2 Corinthians 11:4 Are you exposed?

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

Psalm 130:3-4 "If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins, O LORD, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, therefore you are feared."

Previously we discussed 4 areas of weakness that make us vulnerable: ignorance, spiritual passion that exceeds biblical knowledge, a lack of discernment, and a lack of self discernment. One reason the apostle Paul was so worried about the Corinthian church is because they had been exposed to so much false worship and depravity. They had fallen for false teaching in the past and he feared they would do so again.

2 Corinthians 11:4 "You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed."

The Corinthian believers were falling for smooth talk and messages that sounded good and seemed to make sense. Today there are many false teachings that seem to make sense. Don't believe someone simply because he or she sounds like an authority or says words you like to hear. Search the Bible and check his or her teachings against God's word. The Bible should be your authoritative guide.

The false teachers distorted the truth about Jesus and ended up preaching a different Jesus, a different spirit than the Holy Spirit, and a different way of salvation. Those who teach anything different from what God's infallible Word says are both mistaken and misleading.

Any level of exposure can open a door in the mind that Satan might one day decide to use for his advantage. You may be exposed to something that will affect your life later on. Look around at billboards, magazines, commercials, t.v., movies, songs, basically our modern media. Can you think of a time when any of this exposure influenced your choices? Thanks for reading. Love you all.

How is your discernment? Proverbs and Philippians

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

Can you be seduced to the dark side? Why do godly people do ungodly things? Maybe a lack of discernment. What is discernment? This means to see or understand the difference. Proverbs 14:33 "Wisdom is enshrined in an understanding heart; wisdom is not found among fools."

Proverbs 19:25 "If you punish a mocker, the simpleminded will learn a lesson; if you correct the wise, they will be all the wiser." A great difference exists between the person who learn from criticism and the person who refuses to accept correction. How we respond to criticism determines whether or not we grow in wisdom.

Proverbs 28:11 "Rich people may think they are wise, but a poor person with discernment can see right through them." Rich people often think they are the ones, all credit is due them, that they did this on their own, but they are hollow or shallow. The poor, with dependence on God, may develop a richness of spirit that no amount of wealth can provide. The rich can lose their wealth, but no one can take away the poor man's character.

Philippians 1:9-10 "I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ's return."

Often the best way to influence someone is to pray for him or her. Paul's prayer for the Philippians was that they would be unified in love. Their love was to result in greater knowledge of Christ and deeper understanding (moral discernment). Paul prayed that the Philippian believers would have the ability to differentiate between right and wrong, good and bad, vital and trivial. We should pray for moral discernment so we can maintain our Christian love, your heart and mind must grow together. Are your love and insight growing? Love you all.

2 Corinthians 11:3 How is your heart?

Good morning everyone!! God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

2 Corinthians 11:3 "But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent."
The Corinthians' pure and simple devotion to Christ was being threatened by false teaching. Paul did not want the believers to lose their single-minded love for Christ. Keeping Christ first in your life can be very difficult when you have so many distractions threatening to sidetrack your faith. Just as Eve lost her focus by listening to the serpent, you, too, can lose your focus by letting your life become overcrowded and confused.

If we don't have the knowledge of God we are ill equiped for the fight. Do a self eval and see where you would rank, a 1 or as good as a 10? Do you know the Holy One? Many times we become so involved in doing "work" at the church, at home, that we lose the intimacy we need with our LORD and Saviour.

Spiritual passion that exceeds Biblical knowledge is a dangerous thing. We sharpen steel with steel; therefore, we should sharpen our knowledge and wisdom of God with other Christians and being passionately in love with Christ while studying the word.

Head knowledge without a heart for God is the work of a fool. Be passionate for knowledge AND for GOD! Love you all.

Hebrews 5:12-13 Grow up!

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

Psalm 10:2 "The wicked arrogantly hunt down the poor. Let them be caught in the evil they plan for others."

The wicked, satans disciples, hunt down the poor. So, if you have money, then the wicked will not hunt you down? No, no, no! We are not talking money here, we are talking about other aspects of your life. First, knowledge or ignorance.

Philipians 1:9-10 "This is my prayer, that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be ure and blameless until the day of Christ."One of the best weapons satan has is our ignorance of the word, the Bible.

Hebrews 5:12-13 "You have been believers so long now that you ought to be teaching others. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the basic things about God's word. you are like babies who need milk and cannot eat solid food. For someone who lives on milk is still an infant and doesn't know how to do what is right."

These people were immature, childish, ignorant and they should have been teaching others. Why? Some of it is they won't break with traditional ties or leave the new world attitude and they try to blend in with the culture.

In order to grow we must learn discernment. We must train our conscience, our senses, our mind, and our body to distinguish good from evil. Can you recognize temptation before it traps you? Can you tell the difference between a correct use of scripture and a wrong one? It is time to grow my friend. Stay tuned, tomorrow does the serpent get to our hearts through our minds. Love you all.

Romans 15:1-4 Does your attitude affect you altitude?

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

Did you know your attitude affects your altitude? It certainly does.

Romans 15:1-4 "We who are strong must be considerate of those who are sensitive about things like this. We must not just please ourselves. We should help others do what is right and build them up in the LORD. For even Christ didn't live to please himself. As the Scriptures say, "The insults of those who insult you, O God, have fallen on me. Such things were written in the Scriptures longs ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises to be fulfilled."

The knowledge of the Scriptures affects our attitude toward the present and the future. The more we know about what God has done in years past, the greater the confidence we have about what he will do in the days ahead. We need to diligently read our Bibles so we may have confidence that God's will is best for us.

If your attitude goes down, so does your altitude. We all need to be high on Jesus, not a Sunday hallelujah high, but a constant high with the love, wisdom, and knowledge of God's will for us. It is hard to soar with eagles when you are surrounded with turkeys. You set the mark, be the eagle, and let the turkeys reach new heights with you. Love you all.

Luke 10:18-20 You have authority, you are a citizen of heaven

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!

It is easy to jump on band wagons or give credit where credit is not due. You know, why did GOD let this happen? Or satan is attacking me because....... Let's go back to Jesus

Luke 10:18-20 Jesus said, "Yes, I saw satan fall from heaven like lightning! Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. But don't rejoice because evil spirits obey you, rejoice because your names are registered in heaven."

Wow! no, W O W ! The disciples has seen tremendous results as they ministered in Jesus' name and with his authority. They were elated by the victories they had witnessed, and Jesus shared their enthusiasm. He helped them get their priorities right, by reminding them of their most important victory---that their names were registered in heaven. This honor was more important than any of their accomplishments. As we see God's wonders at work in and through us, we should not lose sight of the greatest wonder of all- our heavenly citizenship.

Jesus is also warning us against pride. Satan's pride led to all the evil we see on earth today. In Isaiah 13:12-17 talks about satan falling from heaven but we, the disciples of Jesus, have power over evil spirits (snakes and scorpions). But we need to be careful, humble, yet forthright in our walk for the LORD. Go forth, claiming the victory in Jesus' name, remembering it is Jesus who gave you victory, speak with authority over evil. Remember, you are only an American for a short season, but you are a citizen of heaven forever. Love you all.

Romans 12:2 What leads your behavior?

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good! How was your yesterday? I do hope well.

Romans 12:2 "Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect."

Paul is warning us, Christians to not copy the behavior and customs of this world. They are usually SELFISH and often CORRUPTING. Wise Christians decide that much worldly behavior is off limits for them. Our refusal to conform to this world's values must go even deeper than just behavior and customs, it must be firmly planted in our mind.

It is possible to avoid most worldly customs and still be proud, covetous, selfish, stubborn and arrogant. Only when the Holy Spirit renews, reeducates, and redirects our mind are we truly transformed.

Proverbs 3:13 "Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding."

Are you walking with "head knowledge" but doing your own thing? Or, is the Holy Spirit guiding you? The answer is easy; the acknowledging of not walking with the Spirit is difficult to come to grips with; just ask forgiveness! Love you all.

Be happy! Romans 12:14-15

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!

Romans 12:14-15 "Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep."

Paul is a good example of one who lived up to this persecution. (Acts 28:19)

Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. This practice can be found in the life of Christ and proves that this is not just a philosophy. Jesus Christ rejoiced at the marriage feast with those who rejoiced (John 21-12) and wept at the graveside of Lazarus with those who wept (John 11:1-44).

We need to be so intimately involved with the lives of other believers that we know of their joys and their sorrows, and can identify with each. When was the last time you wept tears of joy or tears of sorrow? What purpose can be accomplished by doing this?

The love of Christ, based in our hearts, will bring about a genuine caring and love for those in like kinship. Pray for yourself, ask forgiveness, then pray and rejoice with me as we are children of the king. Love you all.

Trust - James 1:14-15 & John 12:46

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

What is happening in our world? Is sin running rampant? Is sin causing people to turn away from the church?

Yesterday, after a lengthy visit with a friend from South Texas I left with a heavy heart. This man is a man of God, who believes truly that he is the son of the King, God; and that Jesus came, died, and shed his blood just for him.

We will call my friend "Big." Big was involved as a youth pastor and spent a lot of time at the church. The problem came when Big witnessed what people of "the clothe" and people of high positions did in the church. Immoral preacher, taking money from the church (not salary), higher position people in the church do "ungodly" things (lie, cheat, steal, covet)and then the thing that hurt him the most, his wife. His wife will be there when the door is open dressed to the nines, but neglects her children, her job, the home, but most of all she neglects and complains constantly to and about Big.

James 1:14-15 "Temptation comes from our own desires which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death."
John 12:46 Jesus said, "I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark."

I encouraged Big to look to God, not to man. He has moved away from corporate worship, is struggling with the situation at hand. He owns his own business and is very successful and will tell you that God is blessing him. This lies heavily on my heart and I ask you for suggestions, words to share that may help Big. Please pray for our brother in need. Thank you. Love you all.

1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 Greatest reward is more Christians

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!

Yesterday we talked about 1 Thess 2:18; satan thwarting our every effort but we must keep true to the course. Today, the next 2 verses.

1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 "After all, what gives us hope and joy, and what will be our proud reward and crown as we stand before our LORD JESUS when he returns? It is you! Yes, you are our pride and joy.

Paul was telling this to the church. The reward was not money, prestige, or fame, but new believers whose lives had been changed by God through the preaching of the Good News.

This was why Paul wanted to see them. No matter what ministry God has given to you, your highest reward and greatest joy should be those who come to believe in Christ and are growing in Him.

Remember, satan is alive and well AND realizes the end time is drawing near. A young lady in our Sunday School class is married to a disable Iraq veteran. He says that when the enemy knows they will be defeated their goal is to take, or kill, as many as they can before they die. This is satan, wanting to take as many to hell with him as possible before JESUS returns. Spread the word, scatter the seed. love you all.

I Thessalonians 2:18 is there a road block?

Good morning everyone! Another great day to love the LORD! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!

Ever have problems and then wonder what is going on?

1 Thessalonians 2:18 "We wanted very much to come to you, and I, Paul, tried again and again, but Satan prevented us."

Satan is real. He is called "the god of this world." (2 Corinthians 4:4) and "the commander of the powers in the unseen world" (Ephesians 2:2) We don't know exactly what hindered Paul from returning to Thessalonica-opposition, illness, travel complications, or a direct attack by satan-but satan worked in some way to keep him away.

Many of the difficulties that prevent us from accompishing God's work can be attributed to satan. So what do we do. We have to realize our enemey-satan; recognize how to overcome the enemy-JESUS CHRIST; then we need to be prayful and ask God for His help. Don't get crazy, throw a fit, just realize the obstacle, satan, and remember how to eliminate the obstacle, JESUS; then life will become better and make more senses. Thank you for reading. Love you all.

2 Corinthians 4:2 How is your conscience?

Good morning everyone! Sorry to have missed you yesterday! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!

2 Corinthians 4:2 "But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God."

Hum, will not be dishonest; not be crafty; not be deceitful. But? But what? Commend ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

You, me, as stewards have to be found reliable and trustworthy. Are you? Dishonest, I am always honest! Oh, okay, never stole TIME from the company, maybe take supplies home for personal use, none of this? Well, they expect it! Do they?

Crafty and deceitful. You mean create or manipulate things to your advantage? Naw, I would never do that! (unless it was to my advantage, uh, well) I need to be clean in every man's conscience. If you did something dishonest, crafty, or deceitful just ask forgiveness from God. Let your conscience be clean with God and man.

Whew! I better start now, this make take hours! No, God knows, just go to him as a humble servant and ask; God will grant it. Thank you for reading. Love you all.

Which way do I go? Which way?

Hello everyone! What a beautiful day today. God is good all the time, all the time God is good!

Take time to stop and think. Think about what you do, why you do it, and reflect back to how you learned to do it. Do we do things because "that is the way it's always been done?" Or, do we do things as we are taught? OR, do we teach ourselves to do something the way we want to.

This week while spending 2 days West of Fort Worth the town has two run/walk tracks. Simple enough. Just as you enter the run/walk area, printed on the ground are arrows showing the direction and distance. Interestingly enough, the arrow to the left says .9 and it is a single track you go out on and then return.

However, the other track says .5 with an arrow pointing to the right. Now that arrow could have pointed straight ahead, but it didn't; it pointed to the right. Let me digress slightly here. When we read a clock which way do the hands all go? Yes, what we call in a clockwise direction. So it would seem natural to run in a clockwise manner.

But, when we run on a track or NASCAR, they run in a counter clockwise direction. So, which direction do you run? Clockwise or counter clockwise? Now why are you telling us this. Well, does it really matter which direction you run?

Does it matter how you tell others about God? About Jesus? About the Holy Spirit?
We are to spread the good news about Jesus Christ. I believe, very strongly, that we can spread the news with a humanly spirit or with a heavenly spirit. When I spread the news in a humanly spirit, I feel, many of my seeds will fall on the pathway or rocky ground. However, when I am in the heavenly spirit I believe my seeds will fall on fertile ground and God will water and nourish them. Where do you wish your seeds to fall?

Just food for thought, I would appreciate any response and your thoughts. Today while out running I really felt God was with me. Stop and tell someone something you really like about them, their smile, hair, clothes, just anything. That person may need some positive feedback. Love you all.

1 Corinthian 3:13-15 What kind of builder are you?

Good morning everyone! May God bless you and keep you today! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!

1 Corinthians 3:13-15 "But on the judgment day, fire will reveal what kind of work each builder has done. The fire will show if a person's work has any value. If the work survives, that builder will receive a reward. But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames."

Two sure ways to destroy a building are to tamper with the foundation and to build with inferior materials. The church must be built on Christ, not on any other person or principle. Christ will evaluate each person's contribution to the life of the church, and judgment day will reveal the sincerity of each person's work. God will determine whether or not a person has been faithful to Jesus' instructions.

Good work will be rewarded; unfaithful or inferior work will be discounted.

"The builder will be saved, but like someone barely escaping through a wall of flames" means that unfaithful workers will be saved, but only by the skin of their teeth. All their accomplishments will count for nothing. Yes, they will be in heaven, yet have no crowns to lay at the feet of Jesus. Where are you? What are you doing with your talents? Love you all.

2 Corinthians 5:10 How will you be judged?

Good morning everyone! Another awesome day to be alive in Jesus and spread the Good News! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!

Last night we had an awesome Bible study. We listened to an enactment or skit of someone who was experiencing the BEMA, or judgment seat for all believers to see what you did for the kingdom of God, professing and sharing Jesus. It was extremely moving and definitely carried an impact.

2 Corinthians 5:10 "For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body."

Eternal life is a FREE GIFT given on the basis of GOD'S GRACE, each of us will still be judged by Christ. He will reward us for how we have lived. God's gracious gift of salvation does not free us from the requirement of faithful obedience. All Christians must give account on the day of judgment of how they have lived.

What does Jesus think of you? Is all you do pleasing to Jesus? Will you receive gems or crowns when you go to heaven? Write down your gifts and see if you are using them to further the kingdom of God. Thanks for reading. Love you all.

Proverbs 18:6-8 From the mouth of fools......

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!

Foolish words!

Mouths of fools!

Rumors!

Proverbs 18:6-8 "Fools' words get them into constant quarrels; they are asking for a beating. The mouths of fools are their ruin; they trap themselves with their lips. Rumors are dainty morsels that sink deep into one's heart."

Many times the words spouted are not of God nor of wisdom, but of a knee-jerk reaction. Do they create problems? Yes they do! The mouth of a fool continuously causes contention and will lead him to destruction. The fool is quick to hear he talebearer and happily swallows his words as they are juicy and good.

It is hard to refuse to listen to rumors and gossip as it is hard to pass up a delicious dessert. Just taking one little morsel of either creates a taste for more. You need to be a good "dieter" when it comes to rumors or gossip and not take the first "bite." One bite leads to another, thereby building a road of destruction.

Are you the fool enjoying his dessert? OR, are you the wise and rejecting the words of ruin as you reject the food of ruin (obesity)? It is time for knee-mail, talk to God, listen, wait, and hear that small soft voice of God. Love you all.

Proverbs 18:1-5 Fools and their desires

Good morning everyone! Another great day to be alive in the LORD JESUS CHRIST! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!

Proverbs 18:1-5 "Unfriendly people care only about themselves; they lash out at common sense. Fools have no interest in understanding; they only want to air their own opinions. Doing wrong leads to disgrace, and scandalous behavior brings contempt. Wise words are like deep waters; wisdom flows from the wise like a bubbling brook. It is not right to acquit the guilty or deny justice to the innocent."

Yesterday, in Proverbs 28, we talked about moral rot within a nation. Today we talk about the desire of a man, who, from his behavior, will alienate himself from all others. He is an unsociable man who cares only about his selfish concerns. He scoffs at every sound enterprise. But you know what?

The fool loves to share his opinions, but he has no desire to grasp real understanding. This person will soon become a reproach and will never achieve a position of respect in the community.

The wise man is certain to become a source of enrichment to the members of his community. His words are deep and clear; they are a wellspring continuously sending forth fresh materials. To accept the wicked is not a wise course of action.

Yahweh abhors false and biased decisions in the courts of this world and counsels the separation of his people from all who would commit such actions. Take time to think about God's words. Love you all.

Proverbs 28:1-2 Moral rot within a nation

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good! Sorry to have been out of pocket the last few days. I have not forgotten God, as without God I am nothing more than flesh and bones that will cease to exist.

Proverbs 28:1-2 "The wicked run away when no one is chasing them, but the godly are as bold as lions. When there is moral rot within a nation, its government topples easily. But wise and knowledgeable leaders bring stability."

For a government or society to endure, it needs wise, informed leaders- and these are hard to find. Each person's selfishness quickly affects others. A selfish employee who steals from his company ruins its productivity. A selfish driver who drinks before taking the wheel makes the state highways unsafe. A selfish spouse who has an adulterous affair often breaks up several families. When people live for themselves with little concern for how their actions affect others, the resulting moral rot contaminates the entire nation. Are you part of the problem? Or, are you part of the solution?

Right now, today, look at our leadership! Yes, Obama is the head, but look at the congressmen we have been electing for years. Obama is not the answer, as was not Bush, Clinton, Reagan, Nixon, LBJ, or any of the leaders of the USA. We are the ones in the position to stop corruption, look the other way, or just hide our heads in the sand. When Jesus returns, what crown and how many gems will you have?
