Born again?? Born again!!!

Good morning all!! Another great day to be alive in the LORD JESUS CHRIST!!! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!!

1 Peter 2:3 "All praise to God, the Father of our LORD Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation,"

The term born again refers to spiritual birth or regeneration. The Holy Spirit's act of bringing believers into God's family. Jesus used this concept of new birth when he explained salvation to Nicodemus (John 3) This term is a wonderful metaphor of new life from God. You cannot be a Christian without a fresh beginning based on the salvation Christ brings. To be born again is a magnificent gift from God.

Aren't you glad you are born again? Life has so much meaning and when it is over, there is so much more to look forward to. Tomorrow we will discuss the last part of verse 3, 4 and 5. Thank you for reading. I hope you pondered yesterday's words and some thoughts were generated. Love you all.

God knows us???? GOD KNOWS US!!!

Good morning all! Another great day to be alive in the LORD JESUS CHRIST!! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!!

1 Peter 1:2 "God the Father new you and chose you long ago, and his Spirit has made you holy. As a result you have obeyed him and have been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ. May God give you more and more grace and peace."

This is very, very deep and controversial. I will paraphrase my study text and would encourage you to search for understanding as well. Here goes..... How did God "choose" us? Don't we make our own choices? God alone originates and accomplishes our salvation because of His grace; we do nothing to earn it. Being "chosen" in no way removes the necessity for people to choose to follow.

The fact that God nows all events and decisions beforehand, does not mean that he forces the actions of his creatures or leaves them with no choice, instead God's foreknowledge means that he took the initiative and chose peope before they had done anything to deserve it.

God had intimate knowledge of these future beievers; he knew who woud believe, and he knew them personally. Those chosen one, were known by God the Father as a father knows his children, except that God knew about them from eternity past into eternity future.

Believers are chosen, but not against their will. When the time comes, they accept the gospel message. Thank you for reading. Love you all.

You were chosen!!

Good morning everyone!! Another lovely day to be alive in the LORD JESUS CHRIST!!!! This is a wonderful day. Just STOP! Take time to be alone with God and LISTEN!!

1 PETER 1:2 "GOD THE FATHER KNEW YOU AND CHOSE YOU LONG AGO AND HIS SPIRIT HAS MADE YOU HOLY. AS A RESULT, YOU HAVE OBEYED HIM AND HAVE BEEN CLEANSED BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST. MAY GOD GIVE YOU MORE AND MORE GRACE AND PEACE."

This verse mentions all three members of the Trinity: God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ) and God the Holy Spirit. All members of the Trinity work to bring about our salvation. The Father chose us before we chose him (Eph 1:4) Jesus Christ, the Son, died for us while we were still sinners (Romans 3:6-10). The Holy Spirit brings us the benefits of salvation and sets us apart, makes us holy-sanctifies us, for God's service (2 Thes 2:13).

Our salvation and security rest in God's merciful choice; no trials or persecutions can take away the eternal life he gives to those who believe in him. Believers are chosen but not against their will. When the time come, they accept the gospel message.

Have you stopped and thanked God for His sacrifice, Jesus Christ? Have you told someone about Jesus today? Will you tell someone about Jesus today? May you have a blessed and spirit filled day. Thanks for reading. Love you all.

Count your blessings!

Well, hello!! Let's begin looking at Peter. God is good all the time, all the time God is good!!! 1 Peter starts out with God's great blessings to his people. (1:1 -2:10) Then the conduct of God's people in the midst of suffering (2:11-4:19). And finally the shepherding of God's people in the midst of suffering (5:1-14)

Peter wrote to Jewish Christians who were experiencing persecution for their faith. He wrote to comfort them with the hope of eternal life and to challenge them to continue living holy lives. Those who suffer for being Christians become partners with Christ in his suffering. As we suffer, we must remember that Christ is both our hope in the midst of suffering and our example of how to endure suffering faithfully.

Our salvation is a gracious gift from God. God chose us out of his love for us, Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sin, and the Holy Spirit cleansed us from sin when we believed. Eternal life is a wonderful gift for those who trust in Christ.

1 Peter 1:1 "This letter is from Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ. I am writing to God's chosen people who are living as foreigners in the provinces of Pontus, Galatia Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia."

This letter is talking to the Jewish Christians scattered throughout the world as a result of persecution against believers in and around Jerusalem. The first believers and leaders of the early church were Jews.

Think about this verse for a while and we will visit more about it later. Thank you for reading with me. Love you all.

FAITH IN ACTION!!

Good morning everyone!! How are doing this fine day? Count your blessings! Are you in your home, safe, and enjoying your life? Count your blessings! There are people in the path of DOLLY and losing everything from nothing to everything. So what is a person to do? Keep the faith!! Take time, stop, listen, let God lead you.

James 1-5 deals with faith. The book of James emphasizes faith in action. Right living is the evidence and result of faith. The church must serve with compassion, speak lovingly and truthfully, live in obedience to God's commands, and love one another.

The body of believers ought to be an example of heaven on earth, drawing people to Christ through love for God and each other. If we truly believe God's word, we will live it day by day. God's Word is not merely something we read or think about, but something we do.

Belief, faith, and trust must have hands and feet - - ours! Paraphrased from the Life Study Bible. Thank you for reading. Let's look at Peter starting next week. Love you all.

Is someone wandering from the truth?

Good morning fellow Americans!!! Tis a great day to be alive in the LORD JESUS CHRIST, once again. What happens when we walk outside of the LORD! Obviously, we walk a path riddled with sin. Where have you been walking lately? Path of the world? Or, a path of righteousness? Righteosness? What are you talking about I am human and I do sin. This is a known fact! Yes, but we are forgiven, by the blood of JESUS, therefore we come to the Father white and clean. Okay, let's move on.

What happens when a person wanders? James 5:19-20 "My dear brothers and sisters, if someone among you wanders away from the truth and is brought back, you can be sure that whoever brings the sinner back will save that person from death and bring about the forgiveness of many sins."

Questions? There should be many!! Clearly this person who has wandered from the truth is a believer who has fallen into sin - one who is no longer living a life consistent with his or her beliefs. Christians disagree over whether or not it is possible for people to lose their salvation, but all agree that those who fall away from their faith are in serious trouble and need to repent. James urges Christians to help backsliders return to God. By taking the initiative, praying for the person, and acting in love, we can meet the person where he or she is and bring him or her back to God and his forgiveness.

Once saved always saved? Is this true? If you sin then you really weren't saved? Is this true? If I do everything myself can I be saved? Remain saved? Did I save myself? Or did JESUS save me? If JESUS saved me then am I once saved always saved? Or did JESUS save me but for a season? Feedback would be wonderful! Thank you for reading with me today. Love you all.

Do you---pray earnestly? Listen earnestly?

Good morning to all!! A wonderful day to be alive in the LORD JESUS CHRIST!! How often do you stop and say "thank you JESUS?" Now is an excellent time. How strong is your faith in the LORD? Do you believe? OR, do you BELIEVE?

JAMES 5:17 "Elijah was as human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for three and a half years!"

Elijah had earnest enough prayers no rain came. Are your prayers this earnest? Are your prayers really time with God? OR, just time spent sending up smoke signals and waiting nor expecting anything?

When we achieve greatly we are the closest to defeat. Think about this a moment? What begins to happen? In a nut shell our depending on God decides we can rely on ourselves.

Are you bold enough in CHRIST, as Elijah was in GOD, to have a showdown with priests of Baal and Asherah. Remember, we are never alone! God is always there. God speaks more frequently in persistent whispers than in shouts.

Are you listening? Are you believing? Is your prayer earnest? Take time for your father in heaven and enjoy the blessings He bestoys upon you. Thank you for reading! Prayer earnestly, listen intently. Love you all

Prayer, the breakfast of royal priests!!

Good morning everyone!!! Yes, yes, another wonderful day to just stop and say, "Thank you Jesus!" God is good all the time, all the time God is good! Do you stop and pray? Do you pray for others? Do you ask others to pray for you?

James 5:16 "Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."

Do we confess our sins to each other? NO!! They may tell. WELL, you need a prayer partner who can hold you accountable and you hold them accountable. But, what if I don't feel comfortable doing this?

Christ has made it possible for us to go directly to God for forgiveness. But confessing our sins to each other still has an important place in the life of the church. First, if we have sinned against an individual, we must ask him or her to forgive us. Next, if our sin has affected the church, we must confess it publicly. Then, if we need loving support as we struggle with a sin, we should confess that sin to those who are able to provide that support.

Finally, if we doubt God's forgiveness, after confessing a sin to him, we may wish to confess that sin to a fellow believer for assurance of God's pardon.

"But your are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priest, a holy nation, God's very own possession........" 1 Peter 2:9 In Christ's Kingdom, every believer is a priest to other believers. Pick up your royal priesthood, go about today with the idea you will confess your sins and lead someone to Christ.

Thanks for reading today. Love you all.

Are ye able? Are ye sick?

Good morning! What a wonderful day to be alive in the LORD JESUS CHRIST!! God is good all the time, all the time God is good! Yesterday, Sunday, was a great day in the house of the LORD!!

How do you feel?

James 5:14-15 "Are any of you sick? You should call for the elders of the church to come and pray over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the LORD. Such a prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the LORD will make you well. And if you have committed any sins, you will be forgiven."

James is referring to someone who is physically ill in Scripture, oil was both a medicine and a symbol of the Spirit of God. Oil can represent both the medical and the spiritual spheres of life. Christians should not separate the physical and the spiritual. Jesus Christ is LORD over both the body and the spirit.

People in the church are not alone. Members of Christ's body should be able to count on others for support and prayer, especially when they are sick or suffering. The elders should be on call to respond to the illness of any member, and the church should be sensitive to the needs of all its members.

A "prayer offered in faith" refers to the faith of the people praying. God heals, faith doesn't, and all prayers are subject to God's will. But prayer is part of God's healing process.

Are you "ILL" today? I am, take a moment and ask for God's healing, using a prayer offered in faith, and ask that it be in God's will. Love you all. Thank you for reading. If you need prayer let me know. I do, please pray for me.

Is your aye - yes, and you nay - no?

Good morning!! A lot goes on daily!! Have you thanked God for all you have? It is easy to say "thank you LORD" when things are going good. Can you continue to look up and say "thank you LORD" when things are not going good? How trust worthy are you?

James 5:12 "But most of all my brothers and sisters, never take an oath, by heaven or earth or anything else, just say a simple yes or no, so that you will not sin and be condemned."

A person with a reputation for exaggeration or lying often can't get anyone to believe him on his word alone. Just like the little boy who called wolf too often.

Christians should never become like that. Always be honest so that others will believe your simple yes or no. By avoiding lies, half-truths, and omissions of the truth, you will become known as a trust-worthy person.

Where do you sit? Right now, today? Are you truely trustworhty? Can I count you aye as yes, your nay as no? Do you tell the whole truth? Are you really honest to yourself? If you are struggling with any of this . . . . PRAY!!

THANK YOU FOR READING WITH ME TODAY. LOVE YOU ALL.

Why do you grumble? Where is your heart?

Well, good morning! Another wonderful day to be alive in Jesus!! God is good all the time, all the time God is good! Sometimes we tend to complain about things we need not complain about. As a child growing up in Eastern Colorado I saw a sign in a cafe that said, "I complained about having no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet." So what do we have to grumble about?

James 5:9-10 "For examples of petience in suffering, dear brothers and sisters, look at the prophets who spoke in the name of the LORD. We give great honor to those who endure under suffering. For instance, you know about Job, a man of great endurance. You can see how the LORD was kind to him at the end, for the LORD is full of tenderness and mercy."

We may grumble and complain about things, but we really have an easy go of it. Many prophets suffered and were persecuted, such as Moses, Elijah, and Jeremiah. Or just think about Job. We live where we can freely worship, speak God's name, talk about Jesus, mention the Holy Spirit. Some places you cannot.

The old testament there was Isaac, David, Priests of Nob, Micaiah, Elisha, Hanani, Zechariah, Uriah, and the famous 3-Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, among others.

Then in the new testament we have John the Baptist, Jesus, Peter and John, Stephen, James, Peter, Paul, Timothy and John.

What was the difference? The old testament, basically told the truth as revealed by God and if the king or queen did not like the news, then - be gone. One example, Jezebel did not like to have her evil ways pointed out so many prophets were killed. 1 Kings 18:3,4

In the new testament it all began with John the Baptist telling about Jesus. Then along came a man named Jesus who exposed all the sinful motives, specially the religious leaders. Kill him! They did, BUT HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD TO SHOW HIS AUTHORITY OVER SIN. The others mentioned were either killed or placed in prison.

Is your conviction strong enough you can stand up for Jesus? If you had to take the mark of the beast right now, today, or die - what would your choice be? Stand up for Jesus - eternal life? OR, take the mark for eternal damnation? Tough choice - where is your heart? Is your heart in God's hands? Let go - let God!

Thank you for reading today. Love you all.

Who to blame?

Good morning!! A wonderful day to celebrate our true LIVING LORD JESUS CHRIST!! God is good all the time, all the time God is good! What a wonderful God we have. Don't forget to thank Jesus all day long for each item you have, each thing that crosses your path. Remember, many to harvest, few to plow. We should all be ready for the harvest.

James 5:9 "Don't grumble about each other, brothers, and sisters, or you will be judged. For look-the judge is standing at the door."

When things go wrong, we tend to grumble against and blame others for our miseries. Look at Genesis 3:11-13 Adam blamed Eve, who blamed the serpent. Blaming others is easier than owning our share of the responsibility, but it can be both destructive and sinful.

Before you judge others for their shortcomings, remember that Christ the Judge will come to evaluate each of us (Mat 7:1-5) He will not let us get away with shifting the blame to others.

Where are you today? Can you stand up and take the blame for all the things in your life? Take time to thank God for all He has given you, praise His name for what is coming, and be thankful He is merciful and allows us to exist one more day. Thank you for reading. Love you all.

Patience and endurance

Good morning!! Is God good? OR, is God great? BOTH!!! We need to have patience and be able to endure. Do you have p.e.? (patience & endurance) Let go Let God!!

James 5:7-8 "Dear brothers and sisters, be patient as you wait for the LORD's return. Consider the farmers who patiently wait for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They eagerly look for the valuable harvest to ripen. You, too, must be patient. Take courage, for the coming of the LORD is near."
The farmer must wait patiently for his crops to grow, he cannot hurry the process. But he does not take the summer off and hope that all goes well in the fields. There is much work to do to ensure a good harvest. In the same way we must wait patiently for Christ's return.

We cannot make him come back any sooner. But while we wait, there is much work that we can do to advance God's Kingdom. Both the farmer and the Christian must live by faith, looking toward the future reward for their labors. Don't live as if Christ will never come. Work faithfully to build his Kingdom. The King WILL COME when the TIME is RIGHT!!

Many want to harvest, but few want to plow! Where are you today? We must be patient and wait. During the wait, endurance, we must rely on God and let our strentgh and spirit grow stronger in the LORD. Thank you for reading. Love you all.

Innocent or in a storm on condemning?

Good morning!! I hope all is going well with you today. Yesterday was a great day in the LORD JESUS CHRIST!!!!!

James 5:6 "You have condemned and killed innocent people, who do not resist you."
What? Not me! "Innocent people" refers to defenseless persons, probably poor laborers. Poor people who could not pay their debts were thrown in prison or forced to sell all their possessions.

At times they were even forced to sell their family members into slavery. With no opportunity to work off their debts, poor people often died of starvation. God called this murder. Hoarding money, exploiting employees, and living self-indulgently will not escape God's notice.

Now just stop and think. How far have we evolved from this ancient position? Some sell their children into sex slavery called pornophraphy, some are homeless, some are so poor they can't feed their family, and what do we do? Really do? Do we help or do we stay in our comfort zone and pretend it does not happen?

How many have we condemned and killed simply by turning our back on them, their needs, and took care of our wants? Thank you for reading today. Love you all.

Day of slaughter or Life with Jesus?

Good morning everyone!! What a great day to be alive in the LORD JESUS CHRIST!! Wow! Today's verse should shake you and rock you. Let's begin.

James 5:5 KJ "Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter."

James 5:5 Life Application "You have spent your years on earth in luxury, satisfying your every desire. You have fattened yourselves for the day of slaughter."

Wow.... a day of slaughter?!?! This may be in preparation for a great feast, or self fattening process for our own slaughter. We are spending our time living the fine life, satisfying our earthly pleasures, and for what?

Are we preparing for the day of slaughter, judgment day, when it is hell bound? OR, are we preparing for the day of celebration, judgment day, when we will praise God eternally in heaven?

What is your judgment going to be? Are you self-indulgent? Are you Christ indulgent? As we said yesterday - all will be moth eaten or rust! Only our heavenly rewards will be with us, all earthly possessions will disappear. Where are you today, read the verse again. Day of slaughter or life eternal? Thank you for reading. Love you all.

Need worldly goods? Cheat someone?

Good morning!! Ah, yes, another great day to be alive in the LORD JESUS CHRIST!!!! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!

James 5:4 KJ "Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the LORD of sabaoth."

James 5:4 Life Application "For listen! Hear the cries of the field workers whom you have cheated of their pay. The wages you held back cry out against you. The cries of those who harvest your fields have reached the ears of the LORD of Heaven's Armies."

What is going on here? Uncontrolled appetites for worldly accumulations have carried them to the worst extremes. Not only did they strive for the greatest profits, but they cheated employees in order to do so. By fraud they tricked the laborers out of their wages. The resulting desperate cries seemed to be in vain, but eternity reveals them to have entered into the ears of the Lord of Sabaoth or Lord of Hosts. This emphasizes HIS omnipotence; in spite of how things may appear, HE is sovereign!

WOW! Give me more wealth, more worldly items no matter the cost! What will the cost really be? Eternal damnation? Would you rather have riches or eternal life? What you do reaches the LORD, and you, and you alone are accountable. Ever have your Christianity slapped by in your face because of something you said or did innocently and not thinking. I have!! Did it harm your witness? I don't know, but it was a great slap of reality and humility.

Thanks for reading. Love you all!

Corrupted? Moth-eaten?

Good morning! Lots of things may happen, but we must always remember, "God is good all the time, all the time God is good." Another day will begin making history in your life, right now you are seeing history walk past you. Are you happy with your life the way it is? OR, does it need to change?

James 5:2,3 "Your wealth is rotting away, and your fine clothes are moth-eaten rags.Your gold and silver have become worthless."

One characteristic of prophetic literature is to view the future as though it were present. Is rotting away and are moth-eaten pictures the effects of riches as already having occurred.

In verse 3 King James "Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days." This testifies to the vanity of riches. Eat flesh as fire, possibly James uses this to contrast the array of mortal bodies to their final state. The last days should be a time for securing heavenly treasure, not earthly wealth.

So, what do you have in your store house? Is it moth-eaten, rusted, or do you have the riches of God? We cannot outgive God! We cannot excape God! But we can praise God, let Him be first in our life, and prepare to enjoy the riches of eternal life with God! Not burning in the fiery hell for eternity! Rejoice! Praise God! Thank you for reading today. Love you all.

The worthlessness of riches!!

Good morning everyone!! How in the world are you? Is Jesus first? Who's number 1 for you? Jesus is the answer, Jesus is the way!!!

James 5:1 "Look here, you rich people: Weep and groan with anguish because of all the terrible troubles ahead of you."

James is not talking about the worthlessness of the rich, but the worthlessness of riches. Today's money will be worthless when Christ returns, so we should spend our time accumulating the kind of treasures that will be worthwhhile in God's eternal Kingdom.

Remember, money is not the root of all evil, but the LOVE OF MONEY IS THE ROOT OF EVIL! Not just money, but your daily walk and if you think about cheating. Let someone in on your ticket, allowing someone to walk through with out paying. Is that Christian? I have been hit with things to readjust my "Christian" thinking by the most unexpected source. Where is your "Christian" thinking, action taking you?

Boasting PRIDEFULLY or humbly?

Good morning all! Yes, yes, yes......a wonderful day to be alive in the LORD JESUS CHRIST!! Do you celebrate the 4th? One Nation, UNDER GOD! Wow!! How strong is this? With God on our side who can be against us? Unfortunately, many living within the boundaries of the USA are fighting God, fighting the Christians, fighting to keep us from being ONE NATION UNDER GOD!!

James 4:16-17 "Otherwise you are boasting about your own plans, and all such boasting is evil. Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it."

Wow! BIG WOW!!! Where do you find your self? Are you PRIDEFUL or humble? Are you following GOD or yourself? What powerful words for you to take a few minutes, review, and simply ponder. The verse above is directly after verses that talks about having goals, but with God being the center of those goals. If you take God out of your goals and ambitions then start at verse 16 and consider.

Don't be deceived into thinking that you have lots of reaining time t live for Christ, to enjoy your loved ones, or to do what you know you should. Live for God today!!!!! Do you have goals? Plans? Is God a part of them?

Good morning!! Just taking a short break! Great words from God!! God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

James 4:13 "Look here, you who say, "Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profits.""zzIt is good to have goals, but goals can disappoint us if we leave God out of them. There is no point in making plans as though God does not exist because the future is in his hands.

The beginning of good planning is to ask: "What would I like to be doing ten years from now? One year from now? Tomorrow? How will I react if God steps in and rearranges my plans?

What would you do? Thanks for reading, and continue to praise God. It is easy when things go well, but do you praise God when things go bad? Love you all.

Who is the real judge?

Good morning!! God is good, all the time! All the time, God is good! Wow!! Another day to be alive and work for the kingdom of God - WHAT A PRIVILEDGE!! Will you take advantage of the opportunity you have to spread the good news??

James 4:12 "God alone, who gave the law, is the judge. He alone has the power to save or to destroy. So what right do you have to judge your neighbor?"

Do you ever find yourself sitting, wondering and worrying about "things." God gave the law. Only God can save or destroy. Which way do we walk? Yes, we are Christians, but do we share the GOOD NEWS with people around us? Are we proud of our heritage and share it so others may enjoy it as well? God can save or destroy! We may want to "talk" about our neighbor - why? Unless we have good things to say, things that will enhance our witness for Christ, do we really need to say something.

We are children of the Father Almighty, heirs to the kingdom of Heaven, what more could we want? Take time, be proud of our heritage, yet humble when we walk into the world. Thank you for reading with me today. Love you all.
