Psalm - Prayer & Praise

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Do you stop, take inventory of where you are and what you have? All that you have is what God gave you. Do you take time to say "thank you LORD?"

Psalm 20:5 "May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the LORD answer all your prayers."

We, as David, should look upon all we have - position, family, wealth, talent-as gifts from God. McKenzie is a gift from God and HE answered our prayers for the operation. We are now in the recovery stage and need to continually pray.

Psalm 71:14 "But I will keep on hoping for your help; I will praise you more and more."

As we face the uncertainties of life, we recognize that God has been our constant help in the past. As our physical powers wane, we need God even more, and we realize HE is still our constant help.

We must never despair, but keep on expecting HIS help no matter how severe our limitations. Hope in HIM helps us to keep going, to keep serving HIM.

God has carried us through this surgery, we are still healing, but the prayers from everyone have been overwhelming. One speaks to a friend to shares with their church, who shares with the prayer list, and on and on. Thank you all for the prayers; GOD HAS HEARD YOU! Please keep praying for a complete healing. Love you all.

Proverbs 3:13,14 Wisdom through God is great!

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

PROVERBS 3:13 "Joyful is the person who finds wisdom, the one who gains understanding, For wisdom is more profitable than silver and her wages are better than gold."

I think about this and am thankful for the wisdom and knowledge of our physicians, and of course the GREAT PHYSICIAN - GOD!

I cannot say I come with heavy heart today, as today is the day my granddaughter is having her brain surgery to help stop or eliminate the seizures she has been having.

The knowledge or wisdom of the doctors is very encouraging and prints a bright picture. I cannot worry as I know God is in control, however, being of the human variety, I am scared.

Sorry the study is not deeper this morning, however, this verse says a lot to me. If I had all the silver and gold in the world, it would not stop the seizures. However, God gives us the wisdom and knowledge to be able to help or stop situations like this. I am simply asking for your prayers at this time. Thank you. Love you all.

Ecclesiastes 8:7-8 Waging war on death?

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Ecclesiastes 8:7- "For he knoweth not that which shall be: for who can tell him when it shall be?"

Do you know what will happen to you in the future? Who can tell you? Psychics? No, not one --only God knows.

8:8 "There is no man that hath power over the spirit to retain the spirit; neither hath he power in the day of death: and there is no discharge in that war; neither shall wickedness deliver those that are given to it."

God judges the works of the inventive man and the snaring woman; which is the cause of man's misery. Man is rooted in his rebellion against God, that is why we are rightly judged.

Now look at having no power in the day of death. Death wages war on all mankind, and the creative, inventive man has not figured out a way to win this "death war."

The next line, neither shall wickedness deliver those that are wicked. AKA Misery loves company. We cannot escape death and wickedness is not a way out. Well, if God is going to judge us, death is imminent, and wickedness won't help - what do we do? Live a life for ourselves, go, do and don't care? That is not just no, but NO!

We turn to God, to Jesus, to the Holy Spirit - the only way to eternal life. Life as we know it will cease to exist, but a heavenly life will come into existence. As the song says, "Jesus is the answer, for the world today." From my seat, I see us at war with death; or walking with Christ. It should be an easy choice, but for many it is not. Love you all.

Ecclesiastes 8:4-6 Who has the power?

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

What powerful words come, once again, from the Bible. These next verses in Ecclesiastes please read, savor, and let knowledge and wisdom fill you.

Ecclesiastes 8:4-6 KJV, this is clearer to me; let's see what you think. "I counsel thee to keep the king's commandment and that is regard of the oath of God. Be not hasty to go out of his sight; stand not in an evil thing; for he doeth whatsoever pleaseth him. Where the word of a king is, there is power: and who may say unto him, What doest thou? Whoso keepeth the commandment shall feel no evil thing: and a wise man's heart discerneth both time and judgment. Because to every purpose there is time and judgment, therefore the misery of man is great upon him."

His command - God's command......backed by great power. If God can just speak and something happens...wow! What great power. How could you argue against God? Many do because they will not accept Jesus as their savior.

Don't leave or abandon God, He is the power, the key, the door to our future. Evil will not get you there. If we keep the commandment we won't feel evil but a wise man's heart to decide time and judgment.

To every purpose there is time and judgment. Take a moment to reflect on this statement.

The next statement - the misery of man is great upon him. What is this referring to? If we follow the all powerful, then we should use judgment and sidestep misery. However, if we follow evil, what will then happen?

Overall, what I get from this set of scriptures is: God is all powerful, we follow Him not evil and our days will be more free of misery and leads to eternal life. Tell me what you read and receive. Would appreciate your feedback as I struggled with these verses this morning. Love you all.

Psalm 88:1-2 Prayer

Good morning all! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

PSALM 88:1-2 "O LORD, God of my salvation, I have cried out day and night before YOU. Let my prayer come before YOU; incline YOUR ear to my cry."

This stuck with me this morning as we took my granddaughter in for brain surgery. I don't have a lot to say today, except the God of my salvation is faithful and true. I do pray day and night and know God will hear. Think about the words in this verse and see how they may touch you and your life.

Kenz is a special 14 year old and going through something most adults never experience. She is a Christian and believes in prayer. Please, today, let your prayer be heard by the LORD, our God of salvation. Pray not just for Kenz, but for the loved ones in your life and others around you. God hears, God does, God is to be praised. Thank you and have a wonderful, prayerful day.

Ecclesiastes 8;2-3 What do you stand for? Evil or God?

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Ecclesiastes 8:2-3 "Obey the king since you vowed to God that you would. Don't try to avoid doing your duty and don't stand with those who plot evil, for the king can do whatever he wants."

Wow! Powerful words. Obey! Why? You vowed to God. What stronger argument than a vow to God? When we make a vow we should stand behind it; like a prayer. How do you pray at meals? Heartfelt prayer or vow to God or a let's get it over I'm hungry prayer. Like - "Good God, good food, let's eat." Come on, what is that. Just like the people that come to early church to "get it over with." What kind of vow is that?

Do your duty and don't stand with those who plot evil. If you don't stand up for God. If you are passive, remain mute, walk away - then you are standing up for evil. Oh, no, not me! Well, do you stand up for God? Or do you shut up for God? Stand up - that is your vow. Oh, yes, we may do as Peter and deny or welcome evil in. But then what did Peter do? He realized his error and became the "Rock" God intended for him to be.

You, yes you, go out and be the ROCK that GOD wants you to be. Stand up for God, Jesus, Holy Spirit. Will you be persecuted? Probably, but is it worth it? Eternity with God - or Hell with Satan? By the way, stop drop and roll does not work in hell. Think about these words in print. I just pray that God has been the leading one in this writing and it not be my words that touch your heart but God's. Thank you for reading. Rebuttals or comments are welcome.

Ecclesiastes 8:1 God wisdom? Got wisdom?

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Thank you LORD for the rain. Yea!

Ecclesiastes 8:1 KJV "Who is as the wise man? and who knoweth the interpretation of a thing? a man's wisdom maketh his face to shine, and the boldness of his face shall be changed."

Wisdom is the ability to see life from God's perspective and then to know the best course of action to take. Most people would agree that wisdom is a valuable asset, but how can we acquire it? Proverbs 9:10 teaches that the fear of the LORD (respect and honor) is the beginning of wisdom.

Wisdom comes from knowing and trusting God; it is not merely the way to find God. Know God will lead to understanding and then to sharing this knowledge with others.

Wisdom lights up a person's face and softens its harshness. Are you experiencing God's wisdom? My prayer for you is that God will lead you today as you walk in wisdom and you will notice the change. Love you all.

Ecclesiastes 7:27-29 Where is your commitment?

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Wow! In today's verses I cannot say in a few words the depth of the meaning. Look at the Life Application Ecclesiastes 7:27-29 "This is my conclusion," says the Teacher. "I discovered this after looking at the matter from every possible angle. Though I have searched repeatedly, I have not found what I was looking for. Only one out of a thousand men is virtuous, but not one woman! But I did find this; God created people to be virtuous, but they have each turned to follow their own downward path."

Did Solomon think women were not capable of being virtuous (wise and good)? NO, because in Proverbs 31:10-31 he personified wisdom as a responsible woman. Take time to flip back a few pages and read this. The point of Solomon's statement is not that women are unwise, but that hardly anyone, man or woman, is upright before God.

Solomon suggests that one man in a thousand has discovered the way of wisdom and profit, the inference being that the path that leads to wisdom is narrow and found by only a few. The wisdom woman of Proverbs 31 can only be known through the monogamous right-man - right-woman relationship. The wisdom woman, in Song of Solomon gives her heart alone to that man who has given his heart to her with an inviolable pledge of commitment.

Solomon had given his heart to his harem, and thus he exempted himself from the ecstasy of an intimate relationship with a woman of wisdom. Where is your commitment? Where is your heart? To God first or to Lust first? Then to your wife or to the wants (desires) of lust? It is tough and YOU cannot do it yourself; JESUS can! Call upon HIM now. Love you all.

Ecclesiastes 7:26

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Okay, today, something that will hit home with everyone. Temptation! Not just temptation but sexual temptation. How wonderful it appears, how devastating it can be. Like a bomb exploding, major damage in the middle with collateral damage following.

Life App Bible : Ecclesiastes 7:26 "I discovered that a seductive woman is a trap more bitter than death. Her passion is a snare and her soft hands are chains. Those who are pleasing to God will escape her, but sinners will be caught in her snare."

This blindness is in both men and women. Beware a woman who subtlety uses her sensual wares. Men are very visual, opening the door for a women to both lure and capture a man. Men who have the looks do the same thing. They are luring a woman for a specific purpose, and it is not to share a strawberry milkshake.

Can I fall into this? Certainly, how close are you walking with God? Is God leading your way, or are you thrusting through the forest calling God to follow?
Lust is a disease that remains in man and the only cure is Jesus. Fight the good fight and stay the course.

I fight "lust" daily. Pretty people, new cars or trucks, new boat, house, big boy toys, yes, it is a constant battle. But as Solomon tells us, these "lustful" things will not bring you happiness, satisfaction, contentment. Only salvation through Jesus Christ, knowing all things will pass away except eternal life with God. Let me know what you think. Love you all.

Ecclesiastes 7:23-25 Got Wisdom?

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Did you know? On this date in 1885 The Statue of Liberty arrived in New York City aboard the French ship Isere?

KJV Ecclesiastes 7:23-25 "All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me. That which is far off, and exceeding deep, who can find it out? I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness."

Solomon, the wisest man in the world, confesses how difficult it has been to act and think wisely. He emphasizes that no matter how much we know, some mysteries we will never understand. So thinking you have wisdom is a sure sign that you don't.

It is good to persistently pursue wisdom, but one must confess that the perfect achievement of the goal is far from every man. Solomon's search, his quest to know, and seek wisdom did reveal the wickedness of folly and how we tend to be blind to it as well. Do not cease in your quest for wisdom, just understand that man, life, is complex and we will never have all the answers.

I apologize for yesterdays study, many errors and it took on the look of poor grammar and writing skills. I will do better. Love you all.

Ecclesiastes 7:19-22 Wisdom! HAVE IT??

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Okay, back to Ecclesiastes 7:19-22 "Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men which are in the city. (20)For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. (21) Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear they servant curse thee: (22) For often times also thine own heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others."

Wisdom, a valuable ally, when man uses is a valuable companion in combat. Combat? Yes, don't you know you are at world with the world? The spiritual war just above you head for you soul is going on now, and if you could see it you would cower in fear.

Wisdom aid in self-control when he is victimized by the sins of others and helps us not to be offended when observing sin in the lives of others. We are all sinners, wisdom will carry you through.

Don't put total stock in the words you hear, the spoken words of many. Talk is cheap and can be said by Kasaks (stupid fools). Look inward and see what you have lived by. Is wisdom leading you? Wisdom will lead you to profit! Remember, profit does not mean just riches here on earth, but the riches of heaven. I study, use many resources, but am I totally correct? Maybe, maybe not. Search out each one for yourself. Love you all.

2 Kings 5 Naaman the great commander

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

I am going to drift away from Ecclesiastes for today. Take a moment and go to 2 Kings Chapter 5, the healing of Naaman.

Naaman had leprosy. He was pompous and prideful when all he had to do was snap his fingers and some lowly private would hurry off to do whatever he had been commanded to do.

Now here was Naaman, desperate for a cure and willing to do whatever this mystery God might demand. But Naaman was surprised and offended. Why? First of all, Elisha did not do him the honor of a personal greeting. When Naaman came to Elisha's home, Elisha sent his servant to tell him what to do.

Elisha's servant told the great commander, Naaman, to dip seven time in the muddy Jordan river. What this was an insult to him; was he being treated like a private? And the answer to that is.....yes! Naaman wanted God or God's prophet to come to him on his terms---God does not work that way. Who are you kidding, dip myself in a nasty river seven times. Bah-hum-bug!

Naaman did it, he dipped seven times. So what are you saying here? There was nothing magical about the dipping, or our baptism, what matters is the willingness to do whatever it is our LORD orders us to do.

The question of spiritual healing is: Do I expect God to forgive me on his terms or mine? Love you all.

Ecclesiastes 7:15-18 Who are you here to please?

Hello all! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Ecclesiastes 7:15-18 "All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth his life in his wickedness. Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise; why shouldest thou destroy theyself? Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before they time? It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this, yea, also from this withdraw not thine hand: for he tat feareth God shall come forth of them all."

whew! How can a person be too good or too wise? This is a warning against pride-legalism or false righteousness. Solomon was saying that some people become so good or wise in their own eyes that they become deluded by their own religious acts. They deserve the title Kasak or stupid fool.

They are so rigid or narrow in their views that they lose their sensitivity to the true reason for being good - to honor God. Balance is important. God created us to be whole people who seek his rightousness and goodness. Thus, we should avoid both extremes of legalism and immorality.

Why are you here? What is your purpose? To Honor GOD? If not, oops, reloop! Love you all.

Ecclesiastes 7:11-14 What is certain in this life?

Good morning all! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Ecclesiastes 7:11-14 Wisdom is even better when you have money. Both are a benefit as you go through life. Wisdom and money can get you almost anything but only wisdom can save your life. Accept the way God does things, for who can straighten what he has made crooked? Enjoy prosperity while you can, but when hard times strike, realize that both come from God. Remember that nothing is certain in this life."

God allows both good times and bad times to come to everyone. He blends them in our lives in such a way that we can't predict the future or count on human wisdom and power. We usually give ourselves the credit for the good times. then in bad time, we tend to blame God without thanking him for the good that comes out of it.

When life appears certain and controllable, don't lef self-satisfaction or complacency make you too comfortable. When life seems uncertain and uncontrollable, don't despair - God is in control and will bring good results out of your struggles.

Man's final and ultimate profit will to be with God in the end. Love you all.

Ecclesiastes 7:8-10 Patient, even tempered?

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Ecclesiastes 7:8 KJV "Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit."

Ecclesiastes 7:8-10 Life App Bible "Finishing is better than starting. Patience is better than pride. (9)Control your temper, for anger labels you a fool. (10) Don't long for 'the good old days. This is not wise."

To finish what we start takes hard work, wisdom, and self-discipline and patience. Anyone with vision can start a big project. But vision without wisdom will result in unfinished projects and goals.

A true appraisal of any enterprise can only be made from the point of its completion, the end is better than the beginning. The end, often, is arrived at very slowly and the man who would find profit in this life must be a patient man.

He must faithfully resist any and all desire to pride and anger. He must not fall to idealizing the good old days; for such an attitude will greatly slow or stop his effectiveness in the present. Profit can only be found by those who are truly alive to the present.

So, are you patient, even tempered, see things through to the end and live in the present? Many times it is tough, but we all are looking for the end result. Life in Christ is not always a cakewalk, but the profit in the end, eternal life, is worth being patient for. Love you all.

Ecclesiastes 7:7 Corrupt or upright?

Good morning all! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

What is happening in your world? Well, let's look at:
Ecclesiastes 7:7 "Surely oppression maketh a wise man mad; and a gift destroyeth the heart."

What?!?!? Okay, Extortion turns wise people into fools, and bribes corrupt the heart. Does this help?

Money talks, and it can confuse those who would otherwise judge fairly. We hear about bribes given to judges, police officers, and witnesses. Bribes are given to hurt those who tell the truth and help those who oppose it.

People who are involved in extortion or take bribes are indeed fools, no matter how wise they thought they were beforehand. It is said that everyone has a price, but those who are truly wise cannot be bought at any price.

As the story goes, Winston Churchill, in parlament, was sitting next to an attractive woman and asked if she would sleep with him for a million dollars. She acknowledged she would. Then he asked if she would sleep with him for ten dollars. She was very indignant and retorted, what kind of woman do you think I am. Mr. Churchill replied with, we have already established that, now we are haggling over price.

Where do you stand? Are you standing on solid ground (Jesus) or sinking sand? Love you all.

Ecclesiastes 7:5-6 Praise from a fool? Or?????

Good morning all! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Ecclesiastes 7:5,6 "Better to be criticized by a wise person than to be praised by a fool. (6) A fool's laughter is quickly gone, like thorns crackling in a fire. This also is meaningless."

Just take time and read these verses again. We all enjoy praise, it gives a warm feeling, but what does it say? Criticism by a wise person, many times is hard to accept, even though it is to be helpful. Usually a nice encouraging word from a fool does nothing but give us a warm fuzzy feeling but is worthless.

Verse 6 is telling us this will all go away, it all goes away quickly and is worthless, meaningless, and serves no purpose. Tell me what you think about these verses. Love to get your feedback. Verse 5 reminded me of the saying about why do we believe a lie from a stranger faster than we believe the truth from someone we know. Hmmmm!

Ecclesiastes 7:2-4 Death! Are you ready?

Ecclesiastes 7:2-4 Death! Think about it!

Jun 7th, 2011 by buford

Good morning. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Ecclesiastes 7:2 "Better to go to the house of mouring than to go to the house of feasting, for that is the end of all men; and the living will take it to heart. Sorrow is better than laughter, for by a sand countenance the heart is made better. The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning. But the heart of fools is in the house of mirth."

Many people avoid thinking about death, refuse to face it, and are reluctant to attend funerals. Solomon is not encouraging us to think morbidly, but he knows that is is helpful to think clearly about death. It reminds us that we still have time to change, time to examine the direction of our lives, and time to confess our sins and find forgiveness from God. Because everyone will eventually die, it makes sense to plan ahead to experience God's mercy rather than HIS justice.

Have you thought about death? Does it scare you? Why? There is only one way to life everlasting - Jesus Christ. If you have not accepted Jesus there is no better time than the present. If you don't share the gospel with others, then, in my opinion, that is the same as allowing or telling them to go to hell. Tell others, death is not the end, but the open door to life eternal. Love you all.

2 Chronicles 20:12 Desperate Prayers

Good morning all. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Desperate prayers. 2 Chronicles 20:12 "For we have no power to face this vast army that is attacking us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are upon you."

Whatever problem we are facing is far too big for us and we feel there is no way out. What do we do? Prayer comes to mind, but how do we pray? We could pray like Jehoshaphat did when Judah was being invaded by Moabits. His prayer is of trust, humility, and hope.

First acknowledge who God is. Then a reminder of what God has already done. And finally comes the desperate plea. You are omnipotent God of the universe; your force and power brought your people into Israel and placed your temple in its midst; and won't you judge them (Ammonites) for their sins and save us from destruction.

It is the attitude behind the words that really counts. We can't pray a desperate prayer without first confessing complete helplessness and total dependence. It is not always easy, nor is it easy to keep our eyes fixed on God in moments of crisis.

We need to remember how God answered Jehoshaphat's prayer: "Take up your positions... do not be discouraged for the battle is not ours, but God's!" said God.

The next time you find yourself in a hopeless situation, will you trust God enough to praise him for the victory he is about to achieve? Love you all.

Ecclesiastes 7:1 What is that odor? Your reputation or perfume?

Good morning everyone. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!

Thoughts for today: Don't let yesterday take up too much of your time today.

God's salvation does not have a rear view mirror. Quit looking back.

Ecclesiates 7:1 "A good reputation is more valuable than costly perfume. And the day you die is better than the day your are born."

Chapter 6 closed with the question of who knows what is good for man in this life. Chapter 7 opens with the answer.

A good reputation - you the moral man - is more valuable than possessions (costly perfume). We all celebrate the birth of a child and mourn the lost of someone. Should this not be the reverse? A child comes into this world, born in sin and uncertainty. Will he or she walk with the LORD? But upon death, for the believers, the saved in Christ, we should celebrate because we are going home.

Sounds like misguided thoughts or disturbed thinking; however, think about it for a few moments. My question: do you have a good reputation? are you comfortable with death? Love you all.

Ecclesiastes 6:11,12 What is your focus?

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. TOO BLESSED TO BE STRESSED!!

Ecclesiastes 6:11 "See there be many things that increase vanity, what is man the better?"

The list of all things that increase vanity has been compiled. The accumulation of things has been pronounced a vain and unprofitable goal; for things can be lost so easily and must be relinquished at death. Then the question - what is the way to profit?

Ecclesiastes 6:12 "For who knoweth what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?"

Solomon is stating the truth that we cannot predict what the future holds. The only One who knows what will happen after we're gone is God. No human knows the future, so each day must be lived for its own value. Solomon is arguing against the notion that human beings can take charge of their own destiny. In all our plans we should look up to God, not just ahead to the future.

Where is your focus? Love you all.
