Sheol? Or sheol no?!

Good morning everyone! Yes, God is good all the time, all the time God is good! This morning I was willing and able to get up and say, "GOOD MORNING GOD!" On a couple of past writings I inadvertly said Psalms instead of Proverbs. Sorry for the error.

Proverbs 5:5-6 "Her feet go down to death; her steps lead straight to the grave. For she cares nothing about the path to life. She staggers down a crooked trail and doesn't realize it."

The adulteress offers young men the luxury of sexual ecstasy without the commitment of marriage, but she is a totally irresponsible character.
Her course turns first one way then another; her ways are movable and unpredictable.
She is fickle, seeking only to satisy her own depraved desires. Only one thing is certain; she and all who travel with her are bound for the kingdom of the dead (sheol).
Sheol is the place of those dying without the blessing of God, a place reserved for all who refulse to ponder the path of life.
King James Version of 5:5 "Her feet go down to death; her step take hold on hell." Where are your steps taking you today?
If you are walking righteous, then are you sharing Jesus with others so they won't walk the path to hell? Let our prayer be first for forgiveness, then wisdom, courage and knowledge to share the gospel with others, professed Christians as well as lost souls.
Thank you for reading with me today. Love you all.

Wormwood?

Good morning everyone!! Yes, a great day to be alive in Jesus!! God is good all the time, all the time God is good! How did you do yesterday? Did you follow wisdom of our Father, or did you fall to the "immoral woman?"

Proverbs 5: 4"But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword." KJV
Life App "But in the end she is as bitter as poison, as dangerous as a double-edged sword."

Following the wrong path leads to wormwood. Wormwood is the bitter gall of the LXX, a poison when ingested. The man who embraces her will find no mercy. Her smooth mouth, when kissed, becomes a sharp two edged sword that severs him from the blessing of wisdom.

At times we may be surrounded by people who gossip about us or criticize us. Verbal cruelty can damage us as badly as physical abuse. Rather than answering with hateful words, we, like David, can talk with God about the problem. (Psalm 57:4)

Sin is so sweet and enjoyable AT THAT TIME!! As soon as it has passed, the remorse and empty feeling sets in. If no remorse, then no God. If you feel remorse then God is working in your life. When you woke this morning did you say, "Good god it morning,....or did you say, Good, God, IT IS MORNING!!"

Thank you for reading with me today. Love you all.

What is your "immoral woman?"

Good morning everyone!! Yea! Another day to worship God and praise HIS name. No trouble too great as long as we continue to let go and let God. God is good all the time, all the time, God is good!

The wisdom of our parents, many times we see as foolish or just disagree with. Isn't it funny that as you become increasingly older, the more you hear your parent coming forth from your very own mouth. Then we think, oh, my, I sound like my mom or dad. Now, let's move to verse 3, the immoral woman.

Psalm 5:3 "For the lips of an immoral woman are as sweet as honey, and her mouth is smoother than oil."

Wow! This immoral woman is a prostitute. Proverbs includes many warning against illicit sex for several reasons. First, a prostitute's charm is used as an example of any temptation to do wrong or to leave the pursuit of wisdom.

Second, sexual immorality of any kind was and still is extremely dangerous because it destroys family life, erods a person's ability to love, degrades human beings, and turns them into objects, cand lead to disease. Also, unwanted children may come forth.

Third, sexual immorality is against God's law.

Extend this beyond the woman. We all have "prostitutes" in our lives. Take time to stop and relect to see what yours is. Is it your car? Tech gadgets? Your home? Money? What? Once you recognize your "prostitute" what are you going to do?

Thank you for reading. Love you all.

Listen to my words.......

Good morning everyone!!! How are you today? God is good all the time, all the time God is good. Last Friday I mentioned we would begin on Proverbs 5. If any one of you have a topic or area of study you would like to pursue please let me know.

We will take this in small chunks so it can be absorbed better.

Proverbs 5:1 "My son, pay attention to my wisdom; listen carefully to my wise counsel. 2Then you will show discernment and your lips will express what you've learned."
Solomon began what parents have been saying for years, decades, centuries. Listen to me, I have been there, take my counsel or advice. The children say, "Why?"

We respond with something such as so you don't have to go through what I went through. Why don't you learn from me? Just listen and do. Do we do this? No, we feel like we know better and choose to tread our own path.

It is not too late! We can pay attention to the BIBLE, take the wisdom and counsel and walk the Jesus Christ led path. If we don't? Well tomorrow the "immoral woman."

Thank you for reading with me today. Love you all.

Effective Living

Good morning everyone!! God is good all the time, all the time God is good! Take a look at Proverbs 5 and we will begin this on Monday.

What strategy for effective living do you have?

We need to start with God's wisdom. We should respect and apreciate who God is. We should have reverence and awe toward God.

All this requires moral application. Let's say that again, "MORAL APPLICATION." We should trust in God and His Word. We should allow His Word to speak to us personally, and be willing to obey.

All of this requires practical application. We should act on, or follow God's direction daily. Do you?

This will result in effective living. If we take the wisdom from God, apply this morally and practically, then we will have great experiences from what God does with our obedience. Try it....you will like it!

Thank you for reading with me today. Love you all.

Who are you expecting?

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!! Hey, take a look at Psalm 27:14 "Wait for the Lord;"Linger a little longer for him in humility and prayer. Look for him eagerly - expect the living God to act and respond to you mightily.

Psalm 27:14 "Wait for the Lord; be strong......" Be encouraged and prevail like the soldier assured of triumph. Be firm and secure in you hope. Resolutely prepare yourself for the victory he is bringing you.

Psalm 27:14 "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart......." Wherever your heart fails you, wherever you feel faint or fearful - allow him to support you. Exhibit determiniation and experience his courage as it pulses throughout your inner being - emboldening your will, mind, and soul.

Psalm 27:14 "Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD." He is coming to you in strength and glory. Today, expect HIM, know HE is coming.

God is with you......always

Good morning everyone!! A great day to be alive in the LORD JESUS CHRIST! GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME, ALL THE TIME GOD IS GOOD!!

Psalm 16: 7"I will bless the LORD who guides me; even at night my heart instructs me." 8"I know the LORD is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me."

It is human nature to make our own plans and THEN ask God to bless them. Instead, we should seek God's will first. By constantly thinking about the LORD and his way of living, we will gain insights that will help us make right decisions and live the way God desires. Communicating with God allows him to counsel us and give us wisdom.

What will you do today? Act first, ask God later? OR, ask God first, then act later? Thank you for reading with me today. Love you all. Pray for forgiveness for yourself first, then go forth with boldness.

Miracles, all around us!

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. Looking for a miracle in your life? So were the ancient Jews. The people always wanted miracles to know God was with them. They saw miracles. So do we.

Psalm 105:5 "Remember the wonders he has performed, his miracles, and the rulings he has given,...."

We see miracles daily. Stop, look at the little bird, a sparrow. They flit and fly through the air with ease. Think how they use their legs and feet. They hope on the ground looking for something to eat. They sit on limbs, or phone lines, or wires and maintain their balance. They use these same legs and feet to climb trees and search for food. And then, with a little spring they are off flying. Amazing!

If this is not a miracle from God, then what is it? Look around, a miracle does not need to be the healing of someone, an earth shattering change in lives, it can be, and is the simple things around us. Take time to appreciate God's handy work.

Natural to Spiritual

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good! Another wonderful day to praise Jesus.

I Corinthians 15: "46The spiritual did not come first, but the natural, and after that the spiritual. 47The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven."

Read this verse, then re-read this verse. I am struggling to find the area where we first came from worms, or amoeba, or just exploded into being. This says the natural came first and first man was of the dust.

The second man from heaven. Jesus Christ. Think about this scripture for a few moments and let it soak in. Just what does this mean to you? Let me know if you have time. Thank you for reading. Love you all.

Waiting for a spiritual body

Good morning everyone!! Another wonderful day to be alive in the LORD JESUS CHRIST!! God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

1 Corinthians 15:45-46 "The Scriptures tell us,"The first man, Adam, became a living person." But the last Adam - that is, Christ - is a life giving spirit. 46 What comes first is the natural body, then the spiritual body comes later."

Because Christ rose from the dead, he is a life-giving Spirit. This means that he entered into a new form of existence. He is the source of the spiritual life that will result in our resurrection.

Christ's new glorified human body now suits his new glorified life-just as Adam's human body was suitable to his natural life. When we are resurrected, God will give us a transformed, eternal body suited to our new eternal life.

Excited about the final times and the resurrection. Thank you for reading. Love you all.

You will be the same, but different!

Good morning everyone!! Another great day to be alive in the LORD JESUS CHRIST! GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME, ALL THE TIME, GOD IS GOOD! YEAH! I will try to be as succinct as possible.

I Corinthians 15:39-45 "39All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.
40There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another.
41There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
45And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. "

The first part, 39-41 is telling us we are all different. This is not bad, this is a good thing. Then in 42, talking about the resurrection of the dead, we are sown in corruption, but once we are raised, we are no longer corrupt. We died to the old man and rose to a new man, in Jesus. We are raised in glory, in power, we have a spiritual body. We will not be "stamped" and all look the same, we will be recognized as who we are, BUT, we will have been cleansed-inside and out.

Adam, a living soul, and first man. The last Adam, Jesus Christ, is a quickening spirit. We who believe in Jesus will live and survive for eternity. Yea! Thank you for reading with me today. Love you all.

Be as a seed

Good morning everyone!! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. Another day to STOP, right where you are, AND PRAY! Pray for forgiveness, then knowledge, wisdom, and to be an example of Christ in your daily activities.

I Corinthians 15:35-38 "But someone may ask, "How will be the dead be raised? What kind of bodies will they have?" What a foolish question! When you put a seed into the ground, it doesn't grow into a plant unless it dies first. And what you put in the ground is not the plant that will grow, but only a bare seed of wheat or whatever you are planting. Then God gives it the new body he wants it to have. A different plant grows from each kind of seed."

Paul goes into a discussion about what our resurrected bodies will be like. If you could select your own body, what kind would you choose? Strong, buff, athletic, soft, beautiful?

Paul explains that we will be recognizable in our resurrected body, yet it will be better that we can imagine, for it will be made to live forever. We will still have our own personality and individuality, but these will be perfected through Christ's work. The Bible does not reveal everything that our resurrected body will be able to do, but we know it will be perfect, without any infirmities. (Philippians3:21)

Are you ready for your dying, then your resurrection with a new body? Where are you right now in your relationship with Jesus? Let go - Let God! Thank you for reading. Love you all.

YES, Virginia, there is a living God!

Good morning everyone!! I trust your Easter was a great day rejoicing in a risen Savior. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. Wow! Can you imagine, if you died right now, this very moment, you would see Jesus Christ. Then every worry you have right now would be gone, cast aside, no longer there to lead you astray. Wow!

Let me reiterate what Paul says in I Corinthians 15:30-34 "And why should we ourselves risk our lives hour by hour? For I swear, dear brothers and sisters, that I face death daily. This is as certain as my pride in what Christ Jesus our Lord has done in you. And what value was there in fighting wild beasts- those people of Ephesus - if there will be no resurrection from the dead? and if there is no resurrection, "Let's feast and drink, for tomorrow we die!" Don't be fooled by those who say such things, for "bad company corrupts good character." Think carefully about what is right, and stop sinning. For to your shame I say that some of you don't know God at all."

If death ends it all, enjoying the moment would be all that matters. But Christians know that life continues beyond the grave and that life on earth is only a preparation for our life that will never end. what you do today matters for eternity. In light of eternity, sin is a foolish gamble. Your belief in the resurrection will affect your view of the future. It also ought to affect how you live today.

Resurrection is a reality.....for JESUS CHRIST....and now for you as a Christian. Get the HELL out of your life and let JESUS reign. HEAVEN WILL BE AND IS WONDERFUL.
Thank you for reading today. Love you all.

Good Friday

Good morning everyone!!! A great day to be alive in Jesus! GOOD FRIDAY!! So what is good about Good Friday? Jesus died this day.

Yes, Jesus died and His blood covers our sins. We could consider this our birth date, the day or birth of our rightousness, when our sins became covered by Jesus' blood. Death came into this world through man, Adam, and everlasting life came into this world through man, Jesus.

I Corinthians 15:24 "After that the end will come, when he will turn the kingdom over to God the Father, having destroyed every ruler and authority and power. For Christ must reign until he humbles all his enemies beneath his feet. And the last enemy to be destroyed is death."

The resurrected Christ will conquer all evil, even death. Take time to thank God, spend time on your knees praising Him and praying. Don't say, "good God it is morning," but "Good, God, it is morning." Thank you for reading today. Love you all.

Death to Life everlasting by Man

Good morning everyone!! Another great day in the LORD JESUS CHRIST! God is good all the time, all the time God is good!! Yesterday we talked about Jesus Christ being raised from the dead and being the first of the harvest to be raised.

I Corinthians 15:21-22 "So you see, just as death came into the world through a man, now the resurrection from the dead has begun through another man. Just as everyone dies because we all belong to Adam, everyone who belongs to Christ will be given new life."

We will have life everlasting because of Jesus. We have death, and death rules IF you do not accept the free gift of Jesus' salvation. By believing in Jesus we conquer sin and death. What greater gift could we receive?

Look at Romans 5:12-21, which speaks more about being saved from sin, made righteous. Are you proud of your new birth? Are you sharing the word of salvation? Do you speak the name JESUS proudly and offer the plan of salvation to others?

Thank you for reading. Love you all.

To rise or not to rise, that is the question!

Good morning everyone! God is good all the time, all the time God is good. I do hope you have a wonderful day in the LORD! What about Jesus' bones? Did you think about this?

I Corinthians 15:20 "But in fact, Christ has been raised from the dead. He is the first of a great harvest of all who have died."

Just as the first part of the harvest was brought to the Temple as an offering (Leviticus 23.10) so Christ was the first to rise from the dead and never die again. He is our forerunner, the guarantee of our eventual resurrection to eternal life.

Where are you today? Questioning the bones? Or rejoicing in the resurrection? I am rejoicing the resurrection as I know this body will end its life on earth, but my new, perfect body will spend eternity with God. Thank you for reading. Love you all.

Resurrection? Resurrection!!!

Good morning everyone!!! Wow!!! God is good all the time, all the time God is good! We never know what will happen in this world of ours. We need to prepare for the future, the future with Jesus Christ, God.

Yesterday, a repeat on National Geographic, they are claiming they found Jesus' bones. Okay! Let's look at this a moment. This boils down to, "do you believe in the resurrection of Christ?" Do you believe Jesus Christ, came back to life, rose, and ascended into heaven?

Or, do you believe in Jesus Christ but there is no resurrection? If there is no resurrection then they can find Jesus' bones. Also, the Bible is a good history book with lots of fun stories, adventure, violence, sex and corruption. A great t.v. show!

Jesus has power over life and death as well as power to forgive sins. This is because he is the Creator of life. He who is life can surely restore life.

A little long, but stay with us here......Paul is giving us important news here....

1 Corinthians 15:12-19 "But tell me this - since we preach that Christ rose from the dead, why are some of you saying there will be no resurrection of the dead? For if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised either. And if Christ has not been raised, then all our preaching is useless, and your faith is useless. And we apostles would all be lying about God-for we have said that God raised Christ from the grave. But that can't be true if there is no resurrection of the dead. And if there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ has not been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, then your faith is useless and you are still guilty of your sins. In that case, all who have died believing in Christ are lost! And if our hope in Christ is only for this life, we are more to be pitied than anyone in the world."

John 11:25-26 Jesus tells Martha, "I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying. Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never ever die. Do you believe this,(put you name here)?"

Wow!! Thank you for reading. Love you all.

So? What's in a torn veil?

Good morning everyone!! A great weekend I trust. God is good all the time, all the time God is good. Palm Sunday was a great day and great service. Sunday School was super. So, now the week is beginning and how will you walk? Spiritually or worldly?

Matthew 27:51 "The veil of the tmple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split."

The Temple had three main parts: the courts, the Holy Place (where only the priests could enter), and the Most Holy Place (where only the high priest could enter, and only once a year, to atone for the sins of the nations -Leviticus 16:1-35).

The curtain separating the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place was torn in two at Christ's death, symbolizing that the barrier between God and humanity was removed.

This symbolized the rending of everything that stood between you and God, so that you would know that you can always meet with him - every day of the year. Now, all people are free to aproach God because of Christ's sacrifice for our sins. Take time to thank God for His Son, and time to visit with God, but more importantly LISTEN to GOD! Thank you for reading. Love you all.

Who to follow?

Good morning everyone!! God is good all the time, all the time God is good! God does take care of the faithful believers, but unbelievers beware. Take a few minutes to read 1 Samuel, chapters 1, 2, 3.

Reflect on your life....are you walking as a Samuel, or as Eli's sons. Eli's sons were selfish, but Samuel was helpful. Eli's sons defrauded people, but Samuel grew in wisdom and gave the people messages from God. Eli's sons taunted God by having servants take meat from the sacrifices, even before the fat was gone. Samuel became a prophet, priest, and judge over Israel.

A person's actions reflect his character. This was true of Samuel, Eli's sons, and of us. We should strive to keep our heart pure before God. When you experience sadness or tragedy do you blame someone, curse God, or do you go to God in prayer?

Woodrow Wilson said, "Without enthusiasm there is no progress in the world." Where is your enthusiasm? In the LORD, or in material things? Eli's sons thrived on the things of the world, and died of the world. Samuel kept his eyes on GOD!

May your character show and lead people to the LORD! Thank you for reading with me today. Love you all.

Heart problems?

Good morning everyone! Another great day to be alive in the LORD JESUS CHRIST! If you do not receive the devotional you can google JohnnyBdaily and the blog will come up. For some reason if you are hotmail, and I am home, my IP is blocked due to complaints. I do not know why or how and cannot reach hotmail. So, now you know.... the rest of the story.

Talk is cheap! Actions carry a lot of weight. What is wrong with the don't do as I do, but do as I say. A lot of what we learn is by parroting others, people we respect, people we look up to. Can you honestly say you talk the talk AND walk the walk?

I don't cheat.....but then I don't claim everything on our taxes. I don't steal.... but the company won't miss this little item. I don't lust or covet.....but I do deserve that new car more than ...... does. Yes, we may have the head knowledge, however, in order to follow God completely we must have the HEART!!

Ephesians 2:12-13 "In those days you were living apart from Christ. You were excluded from citizenship among the people of Israel, and you did not know the covenant promises God had made to them. You lived in this world without God and without hope. But now you have been united with Christ Jesus. Once you were far away from God, but now you have been brought near to him through the blood of Christ."

Are you near, or are you far. Examine your heart when making a decision. Your way or God's way? Thank you for reading. Love you all.

Cut back or cut off?

Good morning everyone!! A day without praising JESUS is a day without Son shine. God is good all the time, all the time God is good.

Jesus is teaching about the vine and the branches. John 15: 1,2 "I am the true grapevine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch of mine that doesn't produce fruit, and he prunes the branches that do bear fruit so they will produce even more."

Christ is the vine, and God is the gardener who cares for the branches to make them fruitful. The branches are all those who claim to be followers of Christ.

The fruitful branches are true believers who, by their living union with Christ, produce much fruit. But those who become unproductive - those who turn back from following Christ after making a superficial commitment - will be separated from the vine. Unproductive followers are as good as dead and will be cut off and tossed aside.

Take a moment, reflect your spiritual life, are you being pruned, so you may produce more? Or, are you being cut off, dead, no spiritual life? The choice is easy, salvation is easy, sharing it takes wisdom and knowledge from God. Take time today, this morning, and ask God to lead you in all you do. Let go, let God! Thank you for reading. Love you all.
